2011 "Vintage" Collection Wave 5
« on: March 21, 2010, 02:39 AM »
Hasbro recently leaked in a 3/17/10 Q/A what might be in an upcoming 2011 TPM wave...

Quote
ECHO BASE FORUMS: The upcoming Aurra Sing in the Clone Wars line looks amazing! When can collectors expect to see a brand new Aurra Sing figure in the realistic format?

HASBRO: If the schedule holds, there will be a new basic carded Aurra Sing in 2011.

Being that TVC is expected to run for two years, it's likely that Aurra Sing will be part of the TVC!  :D

Awesome! I was digging the CW one but now I will most likely hold off. I am sure JJ will be in this wave, he has been my most wanted fro awhile. I hope Tarpels & Palps will make it in there too. There are so many EP1 figures that really need an upgrade.

I still have to admit that the Pod Pilot Anakin is still one of the most detailed figures in Modern SW ever. Paint/sculptwise It holds up to today standards and even surpasses modern figures in terms of the paint apps that are not crooked. Below is not the best picture but if you have one in your collection it really was ahead of it's time.

Ratts Tyrell was confirmed by Hans Hideout in a Q and A to be confirmed for the 2011 line.

Maybe he will be in this wave?

Here's my choices:
1) Cliegg Lars
2) Dorme
3) Padme, nightgown/robe, balcony scene
4) JK Burtola, Jedi youngling
5) Liam, Jedi youngling
6) Jocasta Nu
7) Obi-Wan Kenobi, wounded by Dooku
8) Anakin Skywalker, peasant/refugee disguise
9) Padme, peasant/refugee disguise
10) Hermione Bagwa

Oops, please ignore this. I was looking at the EpII voting page, and thought I'd clicked on 'next page', but I obviously clicked on 'next topic' without even noticing. :o sorry guys.

For over a thousand generations the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic - before the dark times; before the Empire...

Apparently, according to Rebelscum.com (but w/ them nothing is ever certain), Qui-Gon and Darth Maul are set to part of the "Greatest Hits" division. Darth Maul's place on this list is interesting b/c I would have though that Hasbrp would just make an all-new Darth Maul already. And a thought-worthy note: it would be harder for Hasbro to make Maul's lightsaber blades full-length on a Vintage card b/c of the smaller, narrower bubble.

Hmmm...I like the idea of a Ratts Tyrell, but won't he look ridiculous on a card? He's even smaller than a Jawa. I hope they stick something else in there with him, but I'm sure that's just wishful thinking.

There's not much I really want to see from TPM.  Cloth deco Obi & Qui-Gon would probably be my top choices, along with a better articulated Aurra.  She's a good choice given some crossover with The Clone Wars.  I don't think they can do it, but I would love to see a transforming droideka.  This is also a good opportunity to get those Twilek twin mechanics out there.

From this moment for all my life. What could I say? Was born to be this way. And what could I say?  Just livin' for today

I'd also like to finally see a "final battle" Amidala redo...and yeah, Twi'Lek masseuses.

I do think that Jar Jar needs a redo. I don't think, however, that we need a SA Anakin based from this episode - what can a SA 9-year-old Anakin action figure do?

I agree on a Naboo Battle Padme. ;D And even a Naboo Battle "Queen Amidala" (Padme's handmaiden decoy dressed in royal battle gear).

I agree, there isn't necessarily a ton I still want from TPM either (podracers are always welcome) - but I wouldn't mind some resculpts - and Jar jar is at the top of that list.  Several others could be updated as well (Padme, even adding ball elbows to the Evolutions Maul), and especially after her appearances in the Clone Wars, I really want a new Aurra Sing (which I think is rumored/confirmed for next year?).
