GI Joe Custom Figures
« on: March 26, 2010, 10:13 PM »
Put your cool Joe Customs here.  Why?  Because I love good customs and I am too busy/lazy to search the web looking for them....

I don't do customs myself (insurance won't cover me after the drimmel incident)...but I can take pics of the ones I own...

Here is the latest custom cast figure I've got done.  I'm calling this one Codename:Raven.  He features a headsculpt from my good buddy Dave over at Tri-Gate Creations and weapons from Marauder "Gun-Runners" Home Page

He is fully posable, and quite nicely captures the look of the old Galoob figures.  Enjoy!

As you can see, this is the Daniel Craig Bond that has been so popular as of late.  He features a torso generously donated by my good buddy Dave at Tri-Gate Creations and a UMP.45 from Marauder "Gun-Runners" Home Page .

Here is a little something I picked up from the guys at www.trigatecreations.com and finally got something done with it.  Pretty cool stuff, even though I'm usually not a brick guy.

Foreign Joe Collaberation - Letal (Brazil Sonic Fighter Frag Viper)
This is something I made using the molds that my buddy RaginSpoon put together for his Frag Viper.  This was a one off piece using a new fluorescent dye that I just tried to make the color as intense and with as much depth as possible.  On top of that, if you put it under a blacklight, it fluoresces.

Anyway, I thought you guys might like to have a look.  Enjoy this Brazilian flavored custom cast figure, Letal.

Here are pics of the customs that I did for the FrankenJoe contest this year.  Interrogator won third place.

Samurai's *heart* Ninja's???
This is the first painted cast of the Samurai Warrior (Budo) for my business partner.  It features a removable helmet and both swords and is cast in the base colors of OD Green/Gray/Flesh/Red/Silver.  For some reason the green photographs a lot darker than it actually is.  Wierd.

A little pose-off pic:

This is the first painted cast of the Dragon Lady figure.  She features a removable scabbard, sword and Uzi, and is cast in Flesh/Red/Black/Silver.  She has had all the articulation in the lower body reworked to allow for a complete range of posability with double jointed knees/ball jointed hips/ball jointed feet to allow for all the ninja poses you could want.

Finally got a copy of ROM painted and just put it up on the 'bay.  I'm prepping the second set of molds so that I can cast two at a time.  As you can see, simple paint job to go with the molded metallic silver base.  Also a bonus, since it's all one color theres no need for clearcoat.  Anyway, enjoy!

Here's the final painted version of the Gunfighter figure that was sent in by our bud Airmax.  He did all the mods and sculpting, and I just prepped it for molds and did the casting.  Really nice work on his part.  This figure comes with removable pistols (3) and will be cast in the base colors shown here (tan/black/flesh/yellow).  Enjoy!

This I cast for myself, but I'll be handing it over to my business partner as a belated Christmas gift.  Something about this design is very profound in hand, but the photos don't really do it justice.

This was supposed to be a christmas present for my business partner, but he liked the original color scheme even better.

Sometimes, it goes too long without being able to do a custom just for the fun.  I decided it had been long enough, dug out my box of cast heads (and cast some parts from molds for other custom figures), and grabbed this great one from www.trigatecreations.com and went to town.  Think of it as Santa, all geared (by www.marauderinc.com for the weapons/grenades) up to put down the "Great Elf-Ninja Uprising" of Christmas '08.  Because all elfs are Ninjas.  They really are.  And don't make them mad.  Because they're ninjas.
