Luke and speederbikes on Endor
« on: May 15, 2010, 06:55 PM »
Hey guys- this is a recent dio I completed, meant to represent 2 different scenes but in the same diorama.  The base is styrofoam covered in Instant Papier Mache', and the trees are crumpled construction paper covered in IPM.  The ground was then covered in real decorator moss that I spraypainted green.  I made a few modifications to the speederbikes, which are the POTF2 versions, and then I suspended them from below with twigs covered in moss to hide them a bit.  Hope you like!

I really like this display...a lot!

My one thought, is if you could basically make everyone removable, so you'd have luke and the scout trooper on their speederbikes for a couple months, and then swap it out with Luke deflecting blaster shots. It would streamline the diorama design a bit. That way you're not trying to shoehorn two different action scenes in the same diorama, which takes away slightly from how cool the diorama is.

Another awesome piece of work, Diago-bah! Despite telling us how you suspended the bikes, I don't even notice. Great camoflague work there!

that's just ridiculously cool, looks pretty simple compared to the obviously complex Home One dio.  But it's VERYYYYY upercool.  The only thing I'd add, just me, is some of the blaster effects from the the Saga 2 figures on the bike and Luke saber.  Just to give it a little more "action"

Incredible depiction, shows your sensibility in plastic arts
I liked the trees disposition, and the way the forest ground is represented.
