George Lucas Tells Filmmakers to Not Forget Basics
« on: March 18, 2014, 10:08 AM »

http://variety.com/2014/scene/news/george-lucas-request-to-todays-filmmakers-dont-forget-the-basics-1201133369/

In his speech at USC, Lucas said:

ď Donít forget the basics. Donít get enamored with new technology, because itís not new. Just the medium weíre working in is new, but that doesnít change anything. The art of what we do is exactly the same. Itís beyond technology. Itís the art of movies.Ē

Too bad he didn't take his own advice when he filmed that last 'Star Wars' movies.

Seriously. He even broke the rules of basic storytelling and the hero's journey.
