Higher-rez version of that Thor photo

Honestly, I think it looks pretty good.  Having never seen Flash Gordon, I can't comment on that.  But what little I have seen of Flash... goofy blonde guy in a shirt that says "Flash"... I'd say the production values here are far superior.  I like Loki's armor and helmet.

The production values of the 1980 Flash Gordon really can't be criticized.  Considering when that movie was made, the production values were waaaaay ahead of their time.  In a lot of ways, they hold up far better than those of many other Sci Fi movies.

It's pretty campy, and not for everyone, but you should totally watch it.

As far as Thor...Loki looks great.

You know, your right. It does look like Flash Gordon. The costumes are simular and the sets are almost identical. I have a bad feeling about this.

I thought "Mings Palace" when I saw it too.

And Ryan is right, Flash Gordon is definately a must see.

Wasn't the guy that found the Hammer just a scrawny dude?  That pic looks like the first time the hammer is encountered so why does he have the build already?

In one of the comic book stories he was a crippled doctor.  I don't think he was ever "scrawny."  I don't think that's the origin story they're using for the film, anyway.
