No?  Maybe?  I wouldn't be surprised that there are some inside jokes in the Avengers that you'll get if you've seen the previous movies.  But why wouldn't you watch them anyway?  Two excellent Iron Man films, Thor was really good and Captain America, hopefully, will be just as good.

Hulk?  Well...I don't know if you'll need to see either film since neither actor that played Banner will be in the Avengers.  But I'd watch the film with Norton in it just in case.

I'm just not a big comic fan and don't really care for some dude with a hammer and another with a shield.  Going against the grain on this site, but I think I read maybe an X-Men and a Spiderman comic when I was a kid, but had 0 interest.  I loved the first Iron Man movie and could have cared less about the last two Hulk movies so I dunno...Guess it couldn't hurt to netflix it in a few months.

Is Green Latern an Avenger?  That movie looks pretty nifty.   :)

Pre-Avengers Movies:
 - Iron Man I
 - Iron Man II
 - Thor
 - Captain America
 - Hulk

I finally caught Thor last night and thought it was great.  I think you'd like it if you liked Iron Man, Mike.  Not the same film, but in the same vein of Iron Man and the first Transformers movie (lots of action, a pretty good plot, sprinkled with some humor throughout).  The Norse Gods are masters of advanced tech and sorcery, so it's more sci-fi than Viking dude swinging his hammer around.  If you see it, hang around after the credits for the Easter Egg scene (prelude to the Avengers movie I think).

The new Hulk (Ed Norton's version) belongs on that list too, right?  I know Norton is not playing Banner anymore, but based on the cameo's its part of the "arc" I think.

I added the Hulk...not sure how much of that storyline will be used since the movie didn't seem to do as well and the actor is different.  Did Hulk have an Easter Egg at the end?

Anyone else catch the cameo of another upcoming Avenger in Thor?

I think Hulk had the Easter Egg whith Tony Stark tracking down the General in a bar and talking to him.

I caught the cameo in Thor.  I thought it was awesome and really geeked out when it happened.

Yep, that was the Easter Egg cameo at the end of Hulk.

Finally saw this today and loved it. I caught the little easter egg at the end, but I'm scratching my head as to its meaning. I wasn't much of an Avengers fan, so it's probably incredibly obvious, but I'm missing it.

It'll be made a lot clearer in Captain America.

If you're talking Hawkeye popping up during Thor's rain fight then yes.....

Patty Jenkins to direct Thor 2?  Maybe.

I've never seen "Monster" but I saw The Killing and it was good.  I wasn't blown away by Branagh's Thor so I'm not going to cry over a different director.  Plus, it's not like Favreau had any action/adventure/comic directing under his belt when he blew up with "Iron Man," so it may be good to pick a director that has potential to bring a new attitude to this type of film.

Finally caught Thor today...it was good but nowhere near the quality of Iron Man or Cap.  I also noticed on the Blu Ray that the movie was really really dark in a lot of spots...so dark I had to adjust the contrast.  Doesn't mean I'm not excited for next summer though...I really can't wait!

Looks interesting enough. Surprised to see Loki in it. Had no idea he was going to be in this one.
