Since there isn't a definitive Trek collecting board that I can find, I can't ask anyone and I never could make any sense of Playtrek.

I haven't used the Art Asylum forums since about 2003 but it was a good source for information about the new figures.  I believe they still do the sculpting for the Diamond figures.  http://www.artasylum.com/forum/

RC2 Ditches Its Die Cast Lines

The article states that they're keeping Johnny Lightning around, but I seriously doubt the Trek ships were marketed to a younger audience. I also hear that RC2 is sitting on the ST license, probably so no one else can make money off of it.

Interesting to see new Megos styled figures. I loved those as a kid and would be tempted to pick some up.

Deep Space 9 series 1

Nice. I wonder if they'll do these figures in the early season uniforms as variants.

Looks like they're doing the early season uniforms on the DS9 figures as I'd hoped.  :)

A new Klingon Mego?

McCoy, Andorian, and Romulan "retro" figures

I guess that's what they're calling their Mego-ish figures.

Actually, they're not Mego-ish, but rather Mego. It's funny because just last week I was looking at the Spiderman Signature series and thinking about how much they reminded of the old Mego figures. I almost bought Spiderman, but decided not too. And as I was putting him back I thought to myself that I wish someone would do Classic Trek figures like that. I was wishing for new sculpts, though.  ;D

After looking at the new pictures I decided to preorder the WoK 4 figure pack and Enterprise from New Force.

It looks like a good year for Trek figures, but a bad one for my wallet. At least I was able to find an AGT Riker for only $5 last night. :D

OK, I didn't know they were going with the Mego name or not, so I called them -ish. Thanks for clearing that up.  :)

Yeah, I agree that this year looks great for Trek toys. I see they had a battle-damaged Ent-E coming out too, as well as the original Enterprise. And those WoK figures are looking better and better every time I see them.

I'm most hyped about DS9, though.  :)

Quite!  Seeing that and the Falcon in person were quite a treat.  I'm looking forward to the X-Wing they're working as well.  :)

As far as the Mego reissues...I just have to ask "why"?  I don't understand why these things need to be remade.  The originals are collectible enough as it is and really don't cost that much.  Personally I think it's more detrimental than anything to make reissues such as this.

They're doing the Romulan and the Andorian.  Ouch.  :(

I'm not into Mego, but isnt' the Romulan a super-rare figure?

Man, I love those Aliens series figures.  As much as I'd like to pick one or two up, I doubt it'll happen.  I will say I would have jumped on that $200 Romulan in a heartbeat though.  One just recently sold for over $2000 carded.   :o
