And just barely-- Major Mianda's helmet is very similar to the stripes TLC Pilot helmets, except it has some added dots on his head.

Thanks Adam. Good enough for me. These will be my CO and XO for the Squadron.

Did anyone else have their Toys R Us order for these cancelled on them?

I'm pretty pissed about it 'cause it means I've lost $10 in Toys R Us rewards bucks and a $25 gift card (I just check the gift card to see if the amount got put back on and it did not).

Canceling the order is one thing, but not refunding the gift card or rewards  money is pretty ****** up. There has to be some sort of recourse for that... I'd definitely get on the phone with Customer Service ASAP.

Looking at the other forums, this is apparently pretty widespread.  I had a feeling that those Buy 2 Get 1 preorders weren't going to stand.  The way I see it, when we ordered the endor pilot sets online a few weeks back, a deal that they put on their site and offered, a deal is a deal, and they should have to honor that now.  Either that or make it up to us some other way.

Pretty ballsy of TRU to cancel people's orders though.  Collectors already aren't in love with their $10 Vintage figures and $9 Clone Wars figures.

I hope everyone leaves their overpriced crap on the shelf to collect dust.  But, the realist in me knows that they'll probably just get away with it, and next time they offer, I dunno...an exclusive jawa sandcrawler, everyone will just go beating down the stockroom door to get one.

Stick together and make them pay for it this time!

Well, I picked up my sets, but was pretty bummed to notice a bad paint app on the Major TIE pilot helmet after I had opened the pack. Bad paint apps usually don't bother me, but this one does as the dots are justified to his left rather than centered.

Well they have to refund gift cards and payments.  If they don't, then that's when their behavior crosses the line from douchebaggery to criminal.

Well - I got a response from my complaint e-mail and they gave me a reference number and a customer service rep is supposed to be calling me back in 24 hours.

I've decided that I'm not going to just push for my gift card balance to be reinstated or for the $10 in rewards bucks. I'm also going to insist that they give me the $24.99 back as well.

In good faith I pre-ordered those items while a sale was in effect. Whether or not that sale should have applied to these items doesn't matter.

Essentially whatever benefits & payments I made on that order which essentially brought down my purchase of four sets from $100 to $50 + tax is exactly what I want credited back to my gift card.

I'm also going to push for a case of these sets to be shipped to the TRU near where I work with a hold for me personally on them.

Dressel is 100% correct, not putting the money back on my gift card and making me eat my $10 rewards bucks is like TRU essentially stealing $35 from me.

I wish you luck on all that - please post how it works out.  You should definitely get your gift card back, but we'll see what they do with the rest.  I ordered with a leftover gift card as well, and received the auto-notice that I would be contacted in 24 hours from my complaint.  The gift card is a no brainer and should be easy for them to do.  Not so sure they will credit money from the sale or do anything else to help ensure we get our orders though.  Really, outside of the gift card it sounds like everyone is in the same boat.  Will be interesting to hear the reponse - I'm already ticked at them for closing the store near me and their piss poor coupon handling.

I am going to call on Tuesday too and I plan on giving them an earful as well.  On the gift cards - on their website it says it could take up to 5 days for them to refund the cash - so, while that still sucks, you should get that back.

But the reward stealing is some MAJOR bull**** because I don't see them refunding that, or it being an easy task for the customer service rep to handle.

good luck

You guys shold put this screw up on the front page, and try to get the other SW sites front page's active too.  It would be horrible PR for TRU.
I know we're a small community but if enough sites have it on their front pages, TRU might take notice.

Well, here you go.  The official response from TRU arrived tonight in an email from customer service:

"I've just reviewed our stock level of the Star Wars Battle Over Endor
Pilot Box Sets, and unfortunately the PREORDERS are temporarily sold
out. Please check back at a later time.  I sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause you, and I would like to offer you 10% off
any future order with ToysRUs.com or BabiesRUs.com.  Please call us at
either of the numbers listed below and reference Order ####### when
you are ready to place your next order and a Guest Service Specialist
will be happy to assist you!

Our product availability is continuously updated on the website, so you
may also wish to periodically check online as products are updated as
soon as they become available.

Another great option would be to check your local "R" Us store.  Since
the stores also carry many of the same items as our online store, they
may have the Star Wars Battle Over Endor Pilot Box Sets available for
purchase!  I've included our store locator link below to help you find
the store nearest you!"

Note that they offer zero explanation in a three paragraph response.  They do mention twice to check back on the website, which seems to fit with the running theory that they just didn't want to offer the buy two get the third free offer.  The best part is that I mentioned specifically in my email that the store near me was closing down and they respond that "another great option" would be to check my local store.

Fantastic job all the way around TRU.   >:(

TRU: Here is an example of REAL customer service...

So, a week ago my comic book order from scifigenre.com arrives.  My items are boarded, bagged, and wrapped in bubble wrap as always.  I happily unpack and set to reading when I notice a tear in one of the issues.  So, earlier today I sent them an email asking if I could send it back for an untorn version.  I'll even pay the shipping if they can exchange the copy for free.

I get a response back a few hours later (on a Sunday no less): Justin, we are very sorry one of your issues was damaged.  We will include a replacement copy with your next order at no charge.  No need to send back the damaged issue."

That's customer service.  And that's why the next time I see an offer to buy at my local comic shop or a greater deal at some other comic website I will not think twice about sticking with scifigenre.com
