It's Goofy...  That moron can't work the hold button.

Man, thanks for the laugh.  :)  I've been concerned that I'm not going to get this thing, but at least I cracked a smile for the first time in this thread.

I wouldn't worry too much...  Disney stuff, I think even if it sells out, will be back... and in greater numbers.

kids on Christmas morn.

Han shot FIRST. Luke threw TWICE. And it was THX-1138 who wasn't at his post on the big screen back in '77. And I first learned that Vader was Luke's dad in the cinemas at the Tampa Bay Mall in 1980.

I got mine today!  Damn this thing is impressive!  Hasbro needs to take some notes and this is a must for all collector's collections.  The only thing I can think that needs tweaked on this thing is 3po's voice - way too loud - it makes the toy vibrate and gets muffled - he seriously may blow out the speaker!

Also would have been cool if the slides that go into the viewing screen lit up and were semi transparent.

Ultra cool toy!

If by "take notes" you mean, charge a reasonable price for larger vehicles, then yeah.

not just price, but lights, sounds, spring loaded weapons/doors, removable compartments, etc. etc. etc.

edit: and on the pricing?  $55 for this ship vs. what?  $40-45 for that travel agency Disney exclusive set...  comparing the two makes me totally resent buying that travel agency set.  Oh well what is done is done - maybe I will learn next time?

But what do you think about the quality of the plastic? It seems to be of a lower quality than a typical Hasbro ship. It's not as bad as the sarlac  base but it feels different. That R2 reminds me of a cheap candy dispenser. He instantly got replaced with a Hasbro R2.

Does your doors get stuck when they open? I have to force them fully open (making the welcome sound) to make them close.

the plastic, I guess yeah it may be slightly less solid than the standard Hasbro ship, and R2 was just a place holder to me anyway, though looking at he doesn't look bad.

As for the doors - If I push the button all the way in and the doors open and stay open.  I press the button again and the doors close.  I push the button half way in and the doors open and close when I let the pressure off of my finger.

Wow, I can't wait to figure out a way to get one.  In the meantime, can you guys provide pics?  The undercarriage, the lights, perhaps YouTube clips?

I'm at Disney World right now and just got off Star tours (I was the Rebel Spy :) ), but the gift shop didn't have the Star Speeder (although it had three Echo Base troopers :) ).  Anyone know if I can get the vehicle here?

Four more Echo Base troops the third time through the ride, but no Starspeeders.
