 It's a very good playset,

Not nice to tease Chewie like that.  Or curse the thing from being made by referring to it as such.

Ooops.  So sorry. I was just stating that it fits into Hasbro's Vehicle/Playset agenda that the BMF started.

Let me just say that if the Speederbike happens, then Jedi Defender claims responsibility for it...  Not really a rumor that just materialized. ;)

We asked Hasbro about it years ago, including a stand for it to "float", in one of the Q&A's.  I'm sure it's in the archive here because it was oooolllllddddd, and Hasbro was receptive to the idea.

So basically that one's been rumored for probably two years now.  I forget the exact date off-hand, but I do know we were the first to make inquiries about it because I'm so bitchy about scale.  And I suppose anyone could slap it onto a "rumor list" and claim they magically predicted it too, I dunno.  But I do know it's been on Hasbro's radar for some time.  Hell, I think at least two other sites after us wound up asking the same basic question then in more recent Q&A's!

As long as I don't have to pay $21.99 at TRU for a new Speederbike...Well the dlx line is still too expensive at Target/WM even.  MUST HAVE though.  $9.99 is a pipedream....so long good ol dlx pricepoint.

For the WM/Target price, I'd bite...  The OT goodness of it would make me quite happy enough to pay for it.  If it were not OT, like a new more detailed BARC or something, i'd probably scoff.

I think everyone knows where I stand on the Sandcrawler.

That said, it's hard to take anything Stan says seriously.  His track record is iffy and I could put together a list at this point and be 25% right all of the time.  The options for Hasbro are that limited.

Sandcrawler would be awesome, but it would have to tranform into a tank for kids to be interested.

A new Sandcrawler would have to incorporate a whole lot of play features in order for Hasbro to take the plunge on that.  The one area where I think it could POSSIBLY be viable?  Perhaps if they did it as an R/C vehicle with working treads they might capitalize on what they've tried with the R/C Hailfire droid.  The Kenner vintage Sandcrawler was an R/C vehicle and perhaps Hasbro would want to go in that direction for a Vintage Collection exclusive vehicle.  But that seems like a bit of a stretch.

As for the other rumors?  A new tauntaun has been rumored for some time.  Will it happen?  I don't know, but Hasbro seems to be favoring TESB in a big way.  But indications have been that recent creature offerings didn't perform as well as Hasbro might have liked.  The orray seems less likely, especially since it's only the Geonosians that use them.  Is it possible that the orray may have been confused with a kaadu, since Captain Tarpals is also on this list?  It certainly seems like a possibility.

The speeder bike seems like a no-brainer.  And I seem to recall that Hasbro MAY have stated in a Q&A session that they might have located the Saga/Clone Wars speeder bike tool which has been favored by a number of collectors.  And with the Deluxe figure & vehicle packs I think this could be a real possibility.

I think we need to look at this list in a new way...

Queen Jamilla
Barris Offe
Darth Sidious Senate Duel
Hoth Leia
Admiral Ackbar

Tarkin
Sarissa Jeng
Jar Jar Binks---He's coming 2011, right?
Naboo Pilot
Tey How
Ratts Tyrell---Isn't he in the same TPM wave a Jar Jar?
Adi Gallia
Padme Episode I
Kithaba
Hoth Luke
At-St Driver---We did get one, just not on a card.
Lumat
Sim Aloo
Nien Numb
Death Squad Commander
Rebel Fleet Trooper
Walrus Man---He's been just about confirmed, correct?  To go with Evason
Dr. Evason
Bom Vimdin
Yerka Mig
C3P0 with removable limbs
Rebel deck officer
Adimeral Ozzel
Cloud Car Pilot---He came out in TVC
R2 with periscope
Cliegg Lars
wuher
Widdle and Ochee
New SA Yoda
Vintage Bespin Guard
Han in Carbonite
Aurra Sing---Could have been TCW figure
Rebel Taun Taun Handler
Torryn Farr
Commandy Cody
Lt. Sheckil
Saurvin,
Danz Borin

I don't doubt that any of these figures could actually be happening.  When is the issue.

We also got a Bespin Guard, C-3PO with removable limbs and R2 with Periscope. And I think the new Yoda is SA.

But honestly, at this point there's not a limitless list of figures that need to be done, so it's not hard to come up with a rumor list and have a bunch of them be accurate.

I have to say though, I really doubt there will be a big sandcrawler made. It would be cool (since I have a bucket of droids that don't really fit in any particular scene, and need a place to be displayed), but I just can't see it happening. I could see Hasbro going with the sail barge instead, since at least a battle happens on it.

The only way I can fathom a Sandcrawler happening is as a "Droid Factory" type set since Hasbro's mentioned that as an idea they wanted to get to.  I could see them wanting to make it a "rolling" vehicle type deal rather than a playset, and so that whole concept could play out I guess.  But they said this year's big item would be under $100 and Clone Wars related, so that really has nothing to do with a Sandcrawler it seems.

I think they kind of blew it on that though, since BAD's done too.  They wouldn't try that in a non-BAD year I'd wager.  BAD could always come back of course, and this happens then.  It'd have a little more credence I think.  But as far as Hasbro's concerned, BAD didn't really drive sales since the line wasn't doing well since 2008...  I doubt BAD comes back in any grand capacity.

Thank you, Thank you! Stan's like the Great Criswell,  "It's all about razzle-dazzle. If you look good, and you talk well, people will swallow anything."

The Speeder Bike has been rumored about three years ago, BTW...
