Well, sounds like some people here are disappointed that A-Rod choked during post-season, again.

I turned it off after it was 7-4 in the eighth.  ::)

STL has consistently choked so hard in this series there didn't seem to be any point to keep watching.

I have to say I'm sorry I missed it. Sounded like an epic collapse.

I haven't watched any of the World Series but happened to turn it on in the top of the 8th...lucky I did.  That was epic!

I watched it all and what fun. I can't imagine being a Texas fan right now. Obviously they can forget it if they win tonight, but still. Ugh.

It was simply unreal.  This entire ride for the Cardinals this year has been like something out of a movie like "The Natural."  They last led the NL Central July 25 and after a terrible stretch, found themselves trailing the Braves by 10˝ games... then all of a sudden started playing like a team, while the Braves fell apart and got into the playoffs on the last day of the season.  Underdogs against the Phillies and Brewers, and managed to get by... seems like this team plays its best when their back is against the wall.  Can't wait for tonight, but either way what a season.  If they lose, I'll be happy for Nolan Ryan at least.

I know it was cheezy, but I liked the obvious young Buck nod/link to old Buck and Game 6 of 20 years ago.

I still miss Kirby.   :-\

Yeah, I liked the nod too.

And Kirby Puckett was my favorite player.  One of these days I need to pull out my card collection that was dedicated to just his cards.  I still remember how I thought his 1984 Fleer Update card was the greatest piece of paper ever printed, lol.  I still have it.  It means a lot to me, my dad traded some of his cards from when he was a kid to get that for me.

I still remember taking **** in 1987 for being happy when the Twins won against my hometown Cardinals.  Only time I ever found myself pulling for the "other" team.

BTW I hate Joe Buck with a passion but I think he does a pretty good job being impartial being that his family is basically Cardinals royalty

Almost too hard to believe!  I feel bad for the Rangers fans but they have a ton to be proud of their team for.  It just felt like some sort of destiny for the Cardinals... living in STL, I know I am biased, but holy crap, this whole run was just one for the ages!

Lots of things happening in MLB today...

- Houston Astros sold and moving to the AL West, which will cause some sort of re-alignment of the schedule including interleague play every day to make the schedule balance out

- Owners approved two more wild-card teams to make the playoffs (10 teams out of 30 now), but details on how that works are still pending apparently (best guess is that the two wild card teams, team 5 & team 4, play a short series with the winner playing team 1)
