K-Mart Exclusive Captain Lock
« on: December 6, 2010, 10:45 AM »
This list supposedly from Wal Mart's computers was posted over at SSG:

[snip]
Eeth Koth
[snip]

I'm guessing Eeth Koth's likelyhood as a figure has gone up if they are going to the trouble of making his officer, Captain Lock:

Nice that they incorporated Fett's chest sigil on the helmet design.

That's a new helmet sculpt. Perhaps an updated Cody isn't too far behind.

Looks good.  I was hoping they'd get to some of Koth's troopers.

Yeah, excellent catch...I was racking my brain this morning trying to remember where that deco originated. "Grievous Intrigue" - good stuff. Definitely some interesting tweaks to the basic Clone sculpt here. I like.

K-Mart Exclusive Capt. Lock

As per the reveal from Cmdr. Phoenix's image, Captain Lock appears to be a K-Mart Exclusive.

Thoughts?  Annoyances?

Someone was bitching elsewhere that "K-Mart shouldn't even be considered for exclusives", which I thought was sort of silly because they're a retailer and pay a lot to Hasbro, like anyone else.

In the 1990's, you guys with Target's out the ying yang enjoyed cheap Y-Wings and Tatooine Skiff's while those of us in Pittsburgh did without completely, or in the Y-Wing's case you had to drive near the airport as that was the only Target store in the Pittsburgh area.  I got my skiff's from a friend in California at the time though, as Target didn't exist here at all.

So I know the pain if you don't have a K-Mart...  But it is what it is, and KM's been pretty good with the SW line for the last couple years.  I like them actually benefiting from something decent like this.

As I did with Jodo Kast, I'll try to help people get Lock figures who don't have KM's near them.

Or, if you had a Target, they got so few Y-wings and skiffs that it was next to impossible to get one and had to resort to the web.
That said, K-Mart will do OK w/ the Lock figure. I, too, will try to help those who have a hard time as well as I have five stores in an easily-reachable distance. Worth having the past two years for the Buy-one, get-one free sales.

I'm fine with it, we have at least 4 around here, including one right across the street from where I work, and they all got good stock of Jodo, although it took awhile for him to show up here compared to other cities. I'll be happy to help people out too if they need it.

Looks like there is no numbering on the figure, which makes perfect sense considering it is an exclusive. I would love to see a shot of the cardback if possible though.

I'm surprised why Hasbro takes a semi-obscure character like this and makes it an exclusive (Lock did have a small part in a Season 2 episode, right?). Not that I don't like this Captain Lock dude, but why not just include him in the basic figure line?

To get people to shop at K-Mart I guess.  :P

Yakface reader Rand M. sends in a couple photos revealing that the exclusive Clone Captain Lock has started hitting K-Mart for $8.99. Nice find Rand!

Thanks, no luck on this last night. I recall last time it took quite a few weeks for Jodo Kast to hit around here after he was spotted initially. Could be a bit of a wait. Still, something to look for...

Would be nice if this would throw this guy up on the website, but I guess that is asking too much.

Did anyone ever even see Jodo Kast on their website?
