Playing within the stated rules is always respectable.

My reading comprehension being superior is not a fault nor is it cheating.

Your statement would carry more weight if you weren't planning on doing the same thing this year.   :-*

Isn't that nifty.  On top of all the other twists and turns one of my relievers, with 36 saves, seems to have been deported or something to that effect, prior to the end of the season.   ::)

I figured that it was time to let someone else win.  It was getting kind of boring.

Or maybe I got hammered by injuries, I can't tell the difference.   :P

Congrats Rob.

The media is going nuts with the 2 epic meltdowns that happened in baseball last night, with both the Red Sox and Atlanta Braves being yanked from The Big Dance in shocking fashion.  But nowhere is it mentioned the 3rd, The Iron Patriot!  6 point lead with a week to go, poof!

Not that I'm really a baseball fan, but does anyone think the Yankees threw the last few games to the Rays due to the Boston rivalry?  Weren't they giving anyone an opportunity to pitch last night, even if they had a 7-0 lead?

No.

The players all get along just fine.  They are friends and go out to dinner together.  It's the fans that take it too far and hate each other.

Besides, the Rays have been much stronger of late than the Sox, it wouldn't make sense to face a hotter team.

What was the point of what seemed like hundreds of relief pitchers?  I can understand giving somebody some experience or helping someone out, etc., but why do something to blow a lead like that?  Boston did do themselves in, especially not being able to beat the Orioles, but it just seemed a bit of a strange call by the Yankees to me.

They were just setting up the pitchers they wanted with proper rest for the playoffs.

I'd like to thank Longoria, Fielder and Zobrist for finally showing up the last two weeks of the season...
