Star Wars on Blu-ray Commemorative 4-Packs
« on: February 17, 2011, 11:14 AM »
Star Wars on Blu-ray Commemorative Figure 4-Packs with mini movie poster.

Yes, they are all repacks.  Yes, continuing the theme of duplication that Hasbro has going on, many of them are figures that are either currently shipping or were available in the last year. :P

Anyway, if you buy all six you can line them up and get what you see in te top right of this first pic...

Anyone out there looking forward to these for some reason?

Well, if you're looking for a decent Luke and Obi Wan to go along with your newly acquired Saga Falcon, that ANH set is pretty nice.

Actually, all of those OT sets look really good.

Actually the tan battle droid might be "new" in that the Geonosis Arena 2-pack version hasn't been issued in khaki yet.

Some folks are thinking Maul might have ball jointed elbows. I can't tell.

Yeah, mostly uninspired, main character choices. I know these sets are not for collectors but...

Really, Sandtrooper for ANH? Really? REALLY? If I had to sum up ANH  in 4 characters. Is sandtrooper one of them? No.

That now-outdated Bly for ROTS? Why him anyway? Screen time of less than a minute.

The  dirty evolutions Clone from AOTC?

Hoth Leia second repack this year, after the Target 3-pack. Hey, if you were gonna milk it that much, you could've given her ankle joints.

And of course, the Vader who can't hold a saber in his right hand.

I find the ROTS set most annoying since 3 out of the 4 figures JUST came out in the Vintage line.

Wonder how much these are going to run?

I will say, at least they picked some pretty nice figures for the most part.  Sure, many are available elsewhere, but there are some in there that are pretty good figures.  All repacks of course, so I'll likely pass, but the little "complete set" picture thing is kind of neat.

I have to say the ANH set is tempting.  Sandtroopers are generally useful, I'd not mind another of that Luke and Obi-Wan, and R2's R2, depending which mold they ultimately use.  If it's the R4-G9 though, how can you not like seeing that again?

It's weird but I too could be tempted on any of these sets depending on price and which figure versions they ultimately use of the characters packed into the sets.  Only the ROTJ set looks kinda blah.

I may buy all of the OT versions and the TPM for certain figures.

I'm definitely caving in for the TPM set, for that khaki-colored Battle Droid and the Maul (STILL don't have that Evolutions Maul). I already have Qui-Gon and Obi.

I'm considering the ANH set for Luke and Obi. Don't really need another R2, but I do need a "definite" version of him. I could really care less about the Sandtrooper.

About ot blue ray packs

anh: resurgence battle pack would be preferable, cause it comes with more accesories

esb: I only need Leia, will buy the figure from tvc line.

rotj: have Vader, idem, prefer to buy them separately.

Again, glad there's nothing new in them. Glad to pass 'em over.

I might get the ROTJ set for the Han and Scout....plus another Jedi Luke wouldn't be too bad.  I might finally update my Endor shelf and make it a battle like the other shelves.

Of course I'll have to track down an Endor Leia.   :-\
This is the way.

I have spoken.

Packaged and Loose Pics up at Sandtroopers.com

No surprises.

Yes, the battle droid looks like the current one. But I really doubt this will be only way to get that droid in tan.

thanks for the link.  what is the word on Maul?  looks like potential BJ hips to me - assuming this because of the soft goods in the skirt.  elbows look to still be swivel.

I hope he isn't new - because I dont need the set.  That is unless of course Obi and Qui Gonn all have BJ hips too!   :P

The Evolutions Darth Maul had soft goods skirt, and no ball hips. Good bet it's the same figure.

Yes, Hasbro said at Toy Fair that all of the figures in these sets would be existing sculpts. Nothing new.
