We spent last night there. We had electricity and water but nothing else.

Today they connected the gas and FIOS. I was able to work from home. We grabbed the beds from storage and painted the front living room a really cool purple. The bedrooms all have carpet. Now the rest of the house can get tiled and carpeted. Monday they are painting the stuco and will connect the AC. The shower's glass walls are going in right now.

Rose's room

Master bedroom

Bathroom without the glass and toilet. The toilet will go in after we paint it that yellow color.

Kitchen with its pendent light

The garage has the old kitchen cabinets installed. Hopefully I'll be able to get out of the car on that side.

It's been a great adventure. We are in the final stretch now. We are moved in and I'm getting to where I just want all the workers to be done. Almost there.

The glass has been added to the shower.

We've still painting. This is for the formal front room.

Bathroom being painted

The back of the house has been textured coated.

Carpet in the hallways and bedrooms installed. This is prep work for the vynal flooring.

Equipment in the server closet

outdoor lights and dog door

New toliet added

Thanks Nick. It's finally over! We've finished it.  ;D Now comes the part of furnishing it.  :P

The new Star Wars office is carpeted now and the computer is setup in there. I'll be updating that thread in the collecting area as we buy the new bookcases and bring all the toys out of storage. Now I have to figure out how to catelog my stuff.

I'm going to pass that along to my wife....Ok. I showed it to my wife. That paper is way expensive but it might be possible to do in a stencel pattern. Most of the walls are going to be covered in bookcases with glass doors (from Ikea of course). We could do something simular with stenceling though. Hmmm. More good ideas.

Thanks Adrian!

Is that fake grass??

Nice reno, well done
The problem with America is stupidity I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself

It is. :-)
We could never get grass to grow there so we said screw it and covered it with astro turf. Best stuff we ever put down. No weeds. Always looks good and the kids love playing on it. Great for putting too. Its now alot smaller than it use to be. I highly recommend the stuff. I don't own a lawn mower anymore and no need to water it. Everything else is on drip lines.

Somehow skipped this thread all summer and just saw all the pictures. Looks great! But it really makes me wonder what I would do with all my crap if we did something like this here.  :P

Small update. We've had our built in bookcases installed last week. Also the carpet is finally in the last room.

We've added a fountain outside.

Wow, that's some project you've got going there, Phruby! It all looks really beautiful, man. You should be proud of what's been achieved so far!

Friends of mine bought an old bicycle store several years ago and the guy also does almost everything himself in his spare time. He meticulously planned the entire rebuilding project and I don't believe he's encountered any setbacks (worth mentioning, anyway) so far. And after four years it all just looks splendid. Not finished yet, but splendid nonetheless.

Good luck with the rest of the makeover!
