I have to agree with McMetal,  they have stuff on display that you can find at TJ Maxx and Ross.   ???

I guess we know why there was not the usual glut of Pre-SDCC leaks.... There was nothing to show.

So I got off the phone with my friend out there at the show...

So far, he said they still had Death Star boxed sets, Indy figure cases, the Commando sets, all the GI Joe exclusives, and this was 2 days INTO the show that they had all of it.

He said the Hasbro Ticket system is just how they do things at SDCC (like Jayson said), and that the "lottery" rumor is something nobody's willing to cop to, and Hasbro had no clue where it came from even, and that it seems to have just originated at the Hasbro store among the people in line or something.

They've got all the exclusives though, so that bodes well for people hoping for these to turn up.  He said Hasbro's limiting the more limited stuff to 1-per, and stuff like the Indy cases to 2-per...  They're really controlling the flow so people aren't leaving with entire cases of stuff in one swoop, etc.

He said EE/TRU's Commando set was there in bulk and the EE rep said TRU's handling any post-show stock that may be left over, which leads me to believe TRU has their own stock for online right now and will have more when the show's done...  Little speculation there, but you never know.

Sounds like panic isn't quite necessary right now, and that Hasbro hasn't damned the collecting community for all eternity.

It sounds like things like the Death Star may sell out before show's end, but as of tonight it hadn't yet, so that's interesting.

I hope everyone who wants these sets can get them at some point.

This is really great to hear, especially on the vintage set that was supposedly going to be impossible to get outside the show just 24 hours ago.  Thanks for posting the straight scoop.

Does anyone know what time the Hasbro Slide Show presentation starts? I was thinking 11am but I can't recall if that is EST or PST time...

I actually took time off work to watch this. Yes, I am a huge nerd.

If past years are any indication, we will probably see people live blogging the event, as well as the possible webcast.  THAT is one of the things that I was very proud to help get going at SDCC in 2009.
