Wow! We must be down to the dregs when an old woman librarian wins the fan choice poll. I think we need a new Boshek.
She hasn't won yet ;)

I'm sorry this is somewhat late as I was awaiting the 2nd email approval to post which apparently isn't required.

Action Figure Times seemed to be taking part in the poll and even offered a prize for voting but only 2 people entered so I assume this went nowhere: http://aftimes.com/forum/buzz-central/star-wars-fans-choice-2012/.

Lichtgeschwindigkeit.de may have made an error. The posted list is in alphabetical order not in ranked order. Someone at the site asked which list has been submitted but there's been no reply.

Thanks for posting that.  Since we're going strictly top ten, I'll drop off the T3-M4 and go with the rest of those...

10/05 update:

23 sites are included in the summary below:  Jedi Defender, Rebelscum, Han's Hideout, Yak Face, Bantha Skull, Jedi Temple Archives, Collector's Cantina, Droids and Ewoks, Echo Base News, Jedi Insider, Sir Steve's Guide, Snowtroopers, Jedi News, Mousedroid, Sandtroopers, SW Collector, Lichtgeschwindigkeit.de, Yoda's News, Allspark, Imperial Shipyards, Dewback Patrol, and Coreplanets, and SW Action News.

There are at least 2 more sites that may have sent results, but we don't kow what they did - Action Figure Insider and Toyark.  Again, if you know of a site with results please post or send me a PM and we can add their results into the mix!

NOTE:  this is not scientific or official by any stretch, just one stat nerd's attempt to figure out who the top twenty will be for the pure speculation/fun of it.  ;)

Gomer Byle pointed out that I had posted a different list for Sandtroopers then they had on their main page. Turns out I had their results from round 1. And by the looks of it you do too. Here are the real results.
1. Darth Plageuis
2. Cliegg Lars
3. Darth Cadeus
4. Dutchess Satine
5. Jocasta Nu
6. Mara Jade
7. Luke Skywalker (Dagobah Training)
8. Serra Keto
9. Kazdan Paratus
10. Lobot

Doesn't really change anything.

Hasbro's Top 20 (alphabetical order):
Admiral/Captain Piett
Captain/Admiral Pellaeon
Cliegg Lars
Darth Plagueis
Death Squad Commander (Vintage)
Emperor Palpatine (RotJ w/Throne)
Guri
Jaxxon
Jocasta Nu
Joruus C'baoth
Mara Jade Skywalker (Jedi)
Mosep Bineed
Nikto Guard (Vintage Deco)
Nute Gunray (RotS)
Princess Kneesaa
Saelt-Marae (Yak Face)
Sergeant Doallyn
Sim Aloo (Imperial Dignitary)
Toryn Farr
Tzivvzt

17   Noghri Warrior

15   Death Squad Commander (Vintage)
15   Joruus C'baoth
15   Tonnika Sister

Looks like my unscientific poll was pretty good - nailed 17 of the top 19 and 2 we had listed tied for 20th (DSC and Joruus) made the cut.  19/22 - not too bad! 8)

Interesting to note the people who did well in my compiled poll but did not make Hasbro's final 20:
- Ann/Tann Gella (17th in my compiled results)
- Nohgri Warrior (19th in my compiled results)
- Tonnika Sisters (tied 20th)

Not sure how many other sites out there voted, but someone must have been rooting for Pellaeon for him to jump into the top 20 the way he did...

The Gellas could be explained by Lichtgeschwindigkeit.de results. They posted them in alphabetical order but it looks like they probably submitted them correctly.
1. Captain/Admiral Gilad Pellaeon
2. Guri
3. Admiral Daala
4. Toryn Farr
5. Jan Ors
6. Joruus C'baoth
7. Emperor Roan Fel
8. Ann/Tann Gella
9. Jaxxon
10. Emperor Palpatine with Throne

But that also knocks out Palpatine. And it doesn't explain Pellaeon since they are the only site that voted for him. There has to be at least one other site.

I voted for Sim Aloo - if there was ever a time that they should give us him, it's now when they have the Vintage line.

maybe these two

- Ann/Tann Gella (17th in my compiled results)
- Nohgri Warrior (19th in my compiled results)

were removed from the list because they are very near being released?  I know the Nohgri was supposed to be a part of a comic pack - we saw the images.  And I am pretty sure the twins has been rumored for a long time too.

But that leaves me scratching my head on others - especially Kneesa.  She was rumored forever ago as coming with TVC Wicket, I am pretty sure Hasbro said for certain that she was dropped for costing.  So I would think her figure would be as good to go as say the Nogrhi - so why include her on the list?  Plus I think a lot of us Ewok nerds were just pretty much expecting her to go in the supposed Ewok exclusive set.

There may have been more I had to say here, but work interrupted my flow of thought and I dont think I can ever get it back.  today sucks, cant wait for it to be over.

It's rigged. Or "staged" is the word, like Professional Wrestling/sports entertainment.  :-X

Probably half of the ones listed are either planned, almost ready to go, or would take minimal effort. Others would never be made: Jaxxon, Joruss, Plagueis, but were allowd in the final 20 to make it look like a real fan's choice poll.

I'd take almost any unmade character over a remake. By almost, I mean "NOT JOCASTA NU" and iffy on Cleigg Lars, both deserve figures....to me any movie character deserves a figure. But would I shell out $9 for them, not likely.

I'm sure we'll get Plagueis eventually, especially with his novel coming out next year.

Eventually, maybe, i was exagerrating with "never",  but in a line that's been going 16 years...eventually might be 2 years, might be 7. Over 10 years after episode 1's release, and we are getting Ben Quadrinaros and others. Sure, the movie was the least popular...but still...some 12 years.

I think that for the next six years as the 3D re-releases come out, that will be our best, last chance for some long requested characters from each of the six movies. The point you make about Quadrinaros really drives this home. We've been asking for him for, well, 12 years. And now he's finally coming.

I think figures like Cliegg Lars, Jocasta Nu, ROTS Nute Gunray, a new Grand Moff Tarkin, updated Captain/Admiral Piett, updated Yak Face, Sim Aloo, vintage-deco Nikto, Death Squad Trooper, the remaining Kenner Vintage Ewoks, Emperor Palpatine & his throne from ROTJ, Toryn Farr and Tzivvzt - all have a great shot of coming out in their respective 3D re-release year.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if all of those figures weren't already on the drawing boards for those 3D re-release lines and Hasbro really has "stacked the deck" as it were to really seem like they "responded to the fans" from this recent poll...
