The Grinch leaps at me right off the bat, there are still some these figures at TRU which I believe they only put out at Christmas time

Well, if you took TRU pegs as an example, the first Simpsons series should never have been made for us.  Bart and Homer are still there in abundance.

Otherwise perhaps the Evolution movie toys ???

  • E.T.  My TRU is assdeep in ET toys and they haven't moved since they were put out.  They can't even give them away at 1.99  Hell, when your running on bad sculpts, what do you expect...

ET Should have been done properly in a Movie Maniacs series, not crapped up on like the TRU Exclusive figures of him...

  • The Grinch as said above.  The Grinch is more or less just  a christmas thing, and as such, I can't see a kid being interested in them that much afterward.  These are more or less decorations.

  • Planet of the Apes (2001)  I don't think anyone really liked that movie.  TRU and KB both have about 6 million of these leftover...

E.T.

Although I never took the time to actually look at the product,  I have seen them in the same place at TRU forever...  And in abundance...

Those overpriced TRU exclusive...things that a company Stan Winston started put out. They're all really cool monsters, but when they're priced at $15 a crack, sheesh. They sit next to the Transformers at my local TRU, and I just wish Star Wars or MOTU had the pegs those forsaken things are sitting on.

Another line that shouldn't have been was Art Asylum's line of Star Trek:Nemesis figures. If you're not going to do the whole crew, don't bother starting, IMO.

E.T. would have worked if they made less product and the figures were halfway decent, unfortunately...that wasn't/isn't the case

Does anyone know if that flashlight is an acessory or if its like, glued to her hand, because I could use a handfull (no pun intended) of those for customs...

Lines that should have never been made?

The new GI-Joe series comes immediatley to mind. They are everywhere here! Grocery stores, Dollar stores, KB, TRU, Big Lots...Good god...

The picture kept, will remind me...

One word: Hulk.

How many different Hulks were made? Talk about overkill. ::)

Jurassic Park III

JP3 would have worked has hasbro not went and completely f- up the scale.

On that note, I would also add Jurassic Park:  Chaos Effect to this list...

Sorry, inside joke.  I'm up in Canada (Winnipeg to be precise).  We have two TRUs.  They carried series 1 and then nothing until series 10.  Series 10 sold well, so in traditional Canadian TRU fashion they ordered about a gazillion more of the same series.  They are clogging the pegs (about 12 pegs-worth).  Along side those are Bart and Homer from Series 1 STILL at regular price.  Series 1 and Series 11; you cannot add those together to make series 11 :(

First of all, I have to lay down my criteria. I believe movies like Planet of the Apes and Hulk (as much as they sucked) deserved toy lines, just not the way they were offered. These are two no-brainers for the toy aisles, yet the manufacturers managed to screw things up anyway. My list is comprised of properties or concepts that never should have been considered as toy lines:

Reservoir Dogs - Sick, just sick. And the fact that they're available at TRU makes it even worse.

Tortured Souls - Another twisted line. Series Two arrived at clearance price, thank God. I hope Todd takes a bath in his "ultra bloody" club exclusives.

Wizard of Oz - I swear McFarlane's just looking to make Reverend Rose's Warped Toy list. Great way to crap on a beloved classic, Toddy.

Mission: Impossible - Most adults snoozed through the first film, what made toy makers think kids would want crappy figures from this stinker?
Post sober.

LMAO there was a MI toyline??

The Wizard of Oz, had they been done classic style, would have sold very well IMHO, especially with mcFarlane's sculpting.  There is a huge fanbase for that movie out there...
