Good to see that WalMart is offering exclusives online.  But not very exciting to see that they're doing it with repacks, which is what both of these battle packs are.  Will WalMart be doing that with the exclusive basic figures?  I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath.

The droids one is technically not a repack considering all of the droids are BAD mold and the green one is a new droid (R2-N3*) not offered before.

Didn't they do the green one in the EE sets a few years ago?

But I always thought the one on the Queen's ship was R2-A6. That what they always said during EP1.

Since the green droid (R2-N3) was destroyed repairing the hyperdrive at the beginning of TPM that one couldn't be R2-A6 as he was Ric Olie's droid/co-pilot during the Battle of Naboo.   (As Hasbro would like us to believe). :P

Why Jayson do you point these things out to us???   ;)

I always thought it was A6 as well.  Shoot.  Well, I was thinking of this set anyhow, mostly for the novelty of this group as BAD's.  Plus I kind of wanted a spare set for my Queen's Royal starship.

I like how 3PO's legs are absurdly warped to fit on the stand they were never meant to fit on.  Funny.

I really want a set of the racer flags for some reason but no way in hell, even on clearance (unless it's really steep maybe) I'd buy these sets.  TRU's and WM's both blow.  Bummer on the flags but I'll live I guess.  Or someone will scan them in so I can print them.

the droid set...  Eh, I like having extra droids.  I could see me getting that, but I really don't see anything there I don't already own pretty much.  Built quite a few green/white droids so one of him will just double up I guess.  Maybe if I see the set or it's on sale or something.  I've always assumed astromechs are like toasters in that just about everyone has one or can get one easily, and so there's tons of all the color combo's out there, especially the "basic" ones like the green/white or blue/white models and things.

I want the Astromech set but I doubt I buy it at $24.96... those BAD sculpts are cheap as hell, and I hate the extra holes on the sides. Not worth that kind of money, sorry.

Gotta agree on the B-A-F astromech parts.  Those holes in the sides of the bodies never made sense to me, even if that promotion was the single best value added pack-in we've ever gotten with a basic figure.  The R4-G9 body made for a much better astromech IMHO.  R2-N3 might be technically new (in name and little else), but it's not as good of a figure as R2-A6.  I've got dozens of versions of R2-D2, Episode I and more recent versions of R2-B1, and I still have my original R2-R9.  Buying this set for one figure that on first glance looks like a repaint is kind of lame.

Sweet.  I won't tell though.  :-X

I'm not opposed to the BAD sculpt really...  the extra holes were for the kiddies and to that end they made sense.  I don't have kids that were playing with BAD's but know people who did and they used the extra holes to make weird droid creations.  That makes sense to me then and I can look past that.

But "cheap" is what it was all about I'm sure...  I have no doubt they used the BAD sculpt because it's simply less labor intensive I'd imagine than the R4-G9 sculpt.  At the $25 price I might get it I dunno, but only if I see it I think, or if it's easy enough to just get it online and have it site-to-stored...  Otherwise I guess I'm not bothered to not see it.  I'll just throw the extras to my Rebels or something.  Rebels love astromechs, and with all the pilot headswaps I did in just the last year, I've got a lotta guys needing pilots too.

Thanks for the great info Jayson!  I've been wondering if these were all repacks, but since they use the BAD mold, I definitely need to pick up this set to add them to my astromech display.

edit -- They haven't done R2 with the BAD sculpt yet have they?
