Soft goods are okay but only when done right.  Unfortunately, most of the time, Hasbro fails when it comes to soft goods.  On that note, the AOTC Saga Royal Guard with plastic robes doesn't look all that bad.

I know that's a complaint but I don't understand what folks mean on it I guess.  I have mine (ROTS and VC) holding their staff in a pose which I consider good...  They hold the bottom and it rests against the shoulder.  Looks alright to me.  :-\

Could you post a picture of what you're doing?  I managed to get mine to hold them somewhat properly by turning the wrist all funny, cramming the base of the force pike into their hand, and then hoping that it doesn't pop off - which they seem to do frequently.

I think you and I are doing the same thing.  I'll try and snap a photo when I have a moment.  They're not out where I can get to them at this moment though.

On softgoods, I'm pro...  I think more often than not, they look fine.  Sometimes the fabric's too bulky but for me even the Royal Guards (2005 and now) are fine.  Not perfect but fine.  Same with the Jedi robes of late, and the "skirt" pieces.  I mean CW Ani and Obi are insanely good IMO.  They're a tough thing to get right too because what you want may not be readily available at production and such.

For my money, they don't inhibit articulation and stuff, so I appreciate them.  The Saga 2002 Royal Guard was so-so lookign to me, and I'll take softgoods versions over that any day of the week.  At $10 a pop too, figures had better be able to use all included articulation otherwise I'm pretty irked, haha.

No worries... and no rush.  If you don't get to it, that's fine.

As for soft goods... I'd like to see them try a Royal Guard with a material that's more like the cape from the Vintage (like 80's vintage) General Lando.  The light-weight felt like stuff doesn't do it for me.

The Graxol Kelvyn is basically the same material but less shiney...  I'd be cool with that too.  It's a good material.

Lollipop Mace had maybe the best fabric for this scale on any figure, ever.  People really don't appreciate that aspect of that figure.  It's thin, it has stretch, it's dull in color, it has a tight weave to it that looks scaled right.  It's got everything you could want for this scale.

I was thinking Im ight buy one but honestly, the price kills it for me.  I'm really happy with the ROTS figure to the point I don't care about the new one enough to want a bunch.

Got Weequay, Lumat and Prune Face from Amazon today.

Opened Weequay already since his card was damaged (Which one of you guys sent back your damaged packaged figure  ;) )

Comparing all three 3 3/4" Weequays....they've never painted his shirt collar. Only POTF2 has the upper chest buttons/studs painted. Glad to have the guy less preposed.  It's funny it looks like they didn't even reuse Skiffmaster's hands for this guy. Glad he's got a skiff gun and not a stormtrooper blaster. Glad he's got no holster, because he didn't in the movie. It's one thing to add them to virtually unseen cantina patrons, but Weequay was quite visible. Wish his weapons were painted, but eh...whatcha gonna do?

All these recent skiff guards and no new skiff.  :'(

For the under $5 price how could you gripe about even the Gungan or Naboo Pilot ya know?  Sure, TPM figures, but great army builders.  Both are very worthy for multiples.

The Naboo Pilots head swaps onto the Fleet trooper, Capt. Needa, AT-AT Commander, probably several Rebel Pilots, and Hoth Rebel too.  Just an FYI.

Yeah, this is the price I'm happy to pay for TPM figures. I just bought 3 Gungan Warriors and 5 Naboo Royal Guards.
