The $30 is well worth spending, simply as insurance in case ol' George sticks to his word and never puts the original versions of the Trilogy out again.

At Celebration II McCallum informed us that the OT will be put out on DVD after Episode III is out on DVD. I should say, they will begin work on it after Episode III's DVD is released. Good news, but a long wait.

I am almost positive though I have heard that the Original non-Special Edition Trilogy will never be released on DVD...which is what the $30 Bootlegs are ;)

Yep, exactly.  I was referring to the original (non Special-Edition) versions of the Original Trilogy movies.  Lucas has said over and over that those will never see the light of day again - only the Special Editions from thence on.  Even the Special Editions might be in doubt at this point, since it sounds like Georgie might be thinking about tinkering with them some more before he puts out the "Definitive Edition" Saga Boxset after Episode 3.  Time will tell.  But since I don't care for many of the changes Lucas made in the Special Editions, I really wanted a set of DVDs of the versions that I grew up on...

Oh, I was tallking about the Special Edition, Rick McCallum told us that they will begin work on the OT DVD's after Episode III's DVD is done.

You need to asterisk or footnote the new ones Scott, so I can more easily decipher where your money's been going in the past week or two!   ;)

;) Gotcha...although I probably won't be buying any more for a while, the Back to Future sets keep calling my name each time I walk by them, that may be a good Father's Day Present
