The Black Series 3.75" - Wave 5
« on: August 15, 2013, 09:47 PM »
Sooo...the JTA report was fairly accurate and that leaves the following figures off the rumor list:

Luke Skywalker (Jedi Training)
Yoda (Jedi Training)
Wedge Antilles (Snowspeeder Outfit)
Darth Vader (Episode III)
Snowtrooper
Toryn Farr

Hasbro has hinted that next year will be a little more OT focused...which jives with the list...let the speculation begin!

Hmmmm...  Re-released Hoth Rebel.  That's all I got right now.

Yoda when he was training to be a Jedi sounds interesting. But he'd be the only figure from his time period.   :D

Lando and Lobot would be dandy choices...

I'm going to say a different Endor Rebel Commando.  :)

Wasn't there the second Utai from the Legacy line that never was released?  Or did they release him?  He's probably not high on
people's lists, but if they have him sculpted, why not release him?

And some of Jabba's Palace denizens are rumored (for the return of Vintage, but that doesn't seem likely in the very near future):
Yak-face
Ree Yees
and how about Sim Aloo

+1 here.  That figure was woefully under-released.  As for anything else from TESB?

I'm still hoping for a pre-Carbon Freeze Han Solo and a Bespin escape Leia.

Yes, please.  And I wouldn't turn my nose up at a new post-Carbon Freeze Han either.

I'd like any new Carbo block Han to have a floaty stand, please. :)

Let's make it a 3-pack and get it out of the way all at once.

The solution is the more 4 or 5 packs, 3 digs, Royal Guard, Emperor or maybe a better Jerjerrod (Mr Scowly wasn't the best figure). I suppose, you make 2 packs and make the fourth figure whoever. They'd sell as well as Bail Organa or Mon Mothma.  :P

I can't believe this eluded me, but it seems as if Hasbro may actually be committed to keeping the EU in the mix in The Black Series basic figure line.  Wave 2 features Mara Jade.  And while she may be the most recent Fan's Choice Figure poll winner, she's nonetheless an EU character.  Throw Darth Plagueis into the mix with Wave 3, and guess what?  There are 2 EU figures in the first 3 waves of The Black Series.

This turn of events is pretty nice to see.  And it gives me hope that we may see some more EU figures in future waves, too.  Personally, I'm hopeful that we'll see some of the characters from The Old Republic like Ven Zallow or Satele Shan.  Hasbro made a point of making Darth Malgus, Shae Vizla and the Republic Trooper.  A Jedi from that same property would be very welcome in my book.
