Yeah, I think Vader was originally supposed to come out in December of 2014 and there's still no sign of him.

News from Medicom Toy - MAFEX Darth Vader finally launching September 29th.

Just got my payment request for Vader from HLJ... would have been nice to know this would be arriving since I just paid for the SH Figuarts Maul over the weekend and now have to ship them separately. Thanks Medicom! ::)

Got my Vader and Stormtrooper from HLJ yesterday after letting them sit in the Private Warehouse for close to 2 months. Haven't opened them yet (and probably won't for a while) but it's kinda funny how delayed these were because they come in the old Rebels packaging from last year.

Vader has a bunch of accessories (4 sets of hands - "can hold a lightsaber", open, fist, and "Force choke") but the plastic looks... cheap? The figure is way too shiny in parts of the costume that shouldn't be shiny. The Stormtrooper looks like it could rival the SH Figuarts version although he just comes with the E-11 blaster. I wish more Stormtrooper figures came with the bigger rifle, only the Hasbro and Revoltech versions do.

Maybe, just MAYBE, during the holidays I'll take some comparison shots. Laziness and all. :P

Looks like I never posted MAFEX Boba Fett in here when he was announced, so here he is too - due July 2016.

Vader and the Stormtrooper were roughly $40 each when I preordered them on HLJ. They currently have Boba for around $45, and the 3PO/R2 pack for roughly $80.

Are there any scale comparisons to the Bandai kits anywhere I'm not seeing?

MAFEX stuff is really masterpiece work...  Fwoosh does some nice 6" comparisons and it's kinda comical when side-by-sides are done of Hasbro stuff and the stuff like MAFEX and Bandai.

Even Bandai's kit figures are insane by comparison.  Wish they could do something other than masked.

Got my MAFEX C-3PO and R2-D2 in the mail this morning. Woah baby! The Revoltech versions are great, but these might be better.

Saw your tweet, and wow.  Just wow what a great figure set.

To my Tweet point, Hasbro's competing as the "budget" line at this scale, and I get it, but what you get is so vastly superior with Mafex and such...  even the Bandai kits generally speaking.

IMO if you wanted to get into 6" as a small side collection, you'd be so far ahead buying out of Japan than buying Hasbro at this point...  Mafex is doing human sculpts and things, Revoltech same...  Bandai's all masked guys so far with the kits, but you never know (though I wouldn't count on anything else unless they give pre-painted heads in kits, which I doubt).

Hasbro has the branch-out space, but I think I'd prefer the higher-end stuff as a side collection to my 3.75" figures.  Hasbro REALLY is left in the dust...  yeah, you pay more, but you get what you pay for too.  :-X
