Revoltech Star Wars Figures
« on: July 29, 2014, 01:00 PM »
Yet another new license is awarded to a Japanese toy/collectibles company - Disney cashes in again!

Sorry I can't do up something nicer at the moment (too busy at work), but www.taghobby.com has pics of the prototypes for the Revoltech Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, C-3PO, and R2-D2 figures that were shown at this past weekend's Wonder Festival in Japan!

These look good. It will be interesting to see better shots of Vader because I don't know what is going on with the cape.  ???

I believe the cape's hinged, actually, to flop over the left arm kinda.  Just a guess though.

New pics of Revoltech Vader today.

Stands 17cm, so that's 6-11/16" by my math.  Ball jointed cape looks a little wonky, but it sets him apart from Play Arts Vader, MAFEX Vader, SHFigurts Vader, Hasbro Vader, etc. ;)

Revoltech Vader is up for pre-order at BBTS for $64.99.

If you're looking for a cheaper route, he's just 4,675 Yen ($43.11) at Hobby Link Japan, but you'll pay a bit more in shipping getting it straight from Japan.  Still cheaper overall though.

Revo Stormtrooper Update

Quote
Joining Kaiyodo's Revoltech Darth Vader is this loyal Stormtrooper. Using their patented joint system, this soldier of the Empire can do a ton of poses with his included blaster rifle and long range gun. Coming January 2015 for 5,200 yen.

Look for pre-orders to hit soon.  Keep an eye on BBTS (for US orders) or HLJ (for import orders).  I'll toss up the links when I see them. ;)

I think I'm in.  I got the Bandai Stormtrooper for poops and giggles.  I'm in on this too maybe.

Ah, he's now up at HLJ for 4420yen, about $41US:  http://www.hlj.com/product/KYD13002/Sci

I think the Revoltech version may look a little better than the Bandai one.

I think the Revoltech version may look a little better than the Bandai one.

That is because the Bandai Stormie pictured there is a 1/12 Model Kit figure (which is why it's less than $20 and not $40-50).  It's a snap-together kit, not an "action figure" per se.

The Bandai SH Figuarts action figure Stormtrooper will look much nicer as that is Bandai's collector figure line.

So these are roughly 6 inches, give or take? I'm debating getting the Stormtrooper and Vader for kicks (plus I think that the Revoltech Vader looks better than the Hasbro one :-X) but I can't seem to find anything regarding the scale. Either that or I'm blind.

Revoltech Vader is 17cm tall or about 6.7" tall.

Revoltech Stormtrooper is 16cm or about 6.3" tall.

I had no idea there were two separate lines, thanks Jeff.
