I ordered it from the main site for $149.99. It's still showing add to cart. Just saved me the time of running around to places that are sold out & finding other online sites that are sold out.  BB-8™ by Sphero

That would have been a nice cost cutter!  I had $100 in Amazon rewards, so back-ordered one there.

I found about a dozen of these at a Brookstone store by my office today.

BB-8 from Sphero arrived today but I am sending it back. The cost when I ordered was $149.99 plus $25.00 shipping for a total of $174.99. They charged me $206.07 US as they added a fright cost of $31.08 which was not mentioned when I ordered.  >:(

That is $268.27 CDN, **** that! I can get it from Chapters.ca for $189.95 CDN & free shipping. A difference of $78.32 CDN.

Main site, Sphero.com. They shipped it via FedEx which is fine but I still may get a letter for custom charges on top which is normal with them. Still...

Yikes...  The whole thing is odd, but hey at least it is returnable I guess?

Shipping to Canada used to be a lot easier...  WTF happened?

Ah, that's not that unusual when using FedEx or UPS to ship to Canada.  All manner of hidden charges including BS brokerage fees that are entirely unnecessary.  Remember that Master Replicas Collector's Society Darth Maul mini-saber y'all paid about $50 for?  Yeah, after all was said and done with FedEx my total hit about $150.  Absolutely no way will I use a courier service to have stuff sent here.  Ka-frikkin-ridiculous.

There's a company up there sells the 1/16 RC tanks I buy and they use couriers like that...  explains the insane mark-ups on shipping I guess.   :-\  They have good stock but I won't buy because their shipping is astronomical and I can get it from Asia cheaper...  seriously.

Cracked open my BB-8 droid today after it had been sitting on the shelf at home for a month.  Pretty fun little toy.  I'm hoping its durable as the kids really dig it.

I had planned on waiting until the day of the movie premier and surprising the kids with it, but my 8 year old son called me today at work and said his technology teacher showed the kids the school's new BB-8 droid.  They've got a bunch of other Spheros they "learn" with at school, and I guess they added a BB-8 to the lineup.

I wasn't about to let some grade school teacher trump me on Star Wars fun, so we fired it up and sent it rolling around the house.  (Eat that technology teacher).

My five year olds picked up the navigation of it quickly as well.

Should be fun if it can hold up.

Finally got this up and running for my son.  I was sorely disappointed to find that he couldn't get the ap for his Kindle.   >:(  We have a shared I-pad for the family that he is using instead, but would be far more convenient to have on his own device.

Seriously, it has been taken over.  This BB8 is pretty cool though.  We're loving it.
