I like the box too...  The tray separating everything and so forth.  It's a lot better than the glorified cardback they're using now for 6" figures.

I won't buy, but I dig it.

I think the colors and art are nice too, though not what the regular line will look like, no?

I have to admit, I always like the 6" stuff and this is the point I start to feel left out, but I just can't jump into a big line like that.  Still, there's that part of me feels like I'm missing the fun.

Right.  The fancy box/packaging is what is exclusive to SDCC, not the figure.  I'm sure the basic Stormtrooper will be issued in droves this Fall.

The regular 6" line look was shown at Celebration - black/red box:

Yeah I knew I remembered black and red for some reason.

Much more wish we were getting this, actually, but those "display" boxes probably aren't the most economical.  I find the 6" packaging now kind of ugly, in general.  It's really more like a blister card with some cardboard surrounding it.  It doesn't scream high-end.

I am not a packaging guy, so ultimately it's neither here nor there to me, but I have noticed with some of the other stuff I've been buying like Acid Rain, that the packaging is pretty insane.  I was just discussing that with friends the other night and they agreed that even the embossed foam protecting the toy was neat.

Tough to justify it but that SDCC Trooper box and the tray and stuff really make a nice presentation, like 6" Fett was as well.

Seems like a weak exclusive compared to the previous black series sets.

The more I see this, the more I kind of wish they'd just left the Stormtrooper design alone...

I liked it, and I'm not a 6" collector.  I think if I were to delve into it in a small fashion, maybe just soldiers, I'd be a happy camper...  Not saying I will, but man I will say I liked this figure.

Lemme just say that I didn't mention it much, but the little pamphlet it has on the evolution of the troopers is fun.  It's cheap, kind of lame to some I suppose, but I liked it.  A neat little bonus I felt.

Gripes were few, for me...  I thought it's a solid figure, and a solid way to kick off the line sort of.  It's an awesome box too.  Wish these boxes were more common in the line overall.

Does the pamphlet give specific details on the evolution from the stormtrooper armor from Ep 6-Ep 7? That would be the most interesting part of the timeline IMHO.

Unfortunately, that information is still classified. :P

This looks like a fine figure, very clean and crisp. Interesting that Jesse's had ball jointed wrists... I don't think any of the other 6 inch figures have them, but I'll double check mine later.

It's very hard to tell but they are there.  Very hidden.

Nice to see sane, rational toy collectors are still the norm at SDCC.   ::)

People getting punched, getting pushed, getting robbed - just to try and buy an exclusive box and booklet.  I feel really bad for the actual fans trying to buy this thing, with a line full of slimeballs and re-sellers looking to make (or steal) a quick buck.  :-\
