You could've easily bought it off iTunes for $8 any old time...

I finally found Appetite for Destruction at a decent price and picked it up. I've been holding off on it for like 4-5 years but have never seen it under $13. Wal-Mart had it for $8. Great album.

You don't say?

Maybe I'll have to check it out, like, twenty years ago.

Yeah, I'm cheap, still buy regular old CDs and am 20 years behind the times. :)

(antiMusic) The latest rumor swirling around Guns N' Roses is that the long over-due "Chinese Democracy" is complete and with the label but a new battle has emerged that is causing further delay.

We don't know how much stock to put into third or fourth generation rumors, but the word on the street is that Axl has turned in the CD to Geffen at long last but no release date is in sight because Axl and the label can not agree on the marketing of the album.

Are we closer to Chinese Democracy? We have no idea but we are hopeful. We have yet to hear back with the official denials or "no comment" from the GNR or Geffen camp but we'll keep you posted on what we hear officially or hearsay. Again this is all but rumor at this point , besides rumors are more fun than official news anyway.

They just need to pull a Radiohead and offer it up as a free download--by now, everybody's already heard most of the album, anyway, and the finished product, no matter how good it is, will never be able to live up to the backstory.  ******* Rose needs to just put the **** out there, wash his hands of it, and forget about it, and start a clean slate with all new material.  Of course, none of that will ever happen, but it's what needs to happen.

Bah.  I don't think there's anything he can possibly do at this point to erase the joke that he's become.  People don't really give a **** about his new music, anyway.  As long as he keeps hiring a bunch of random dudes, calls them "Guns N' Roses," trots them out on tour every few years to play "Welcome to the Jungle" for people, he'll be set for life.

It's a fact!

Classic Rock recently tracked down Beta Lebeis, personal manager of Axl Rose, who confirmed to us that Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy album "was finished before Christmas".

She added: "Everybody knows that."

Lebeis said Axl is currently "in negotiations".

What could said "negotiations" include? Well, possibly the album's on-sale date. Classic Rock guesses that in order to make the most of album sales, the record company will be pushing for a release in late summer, with a view to it becoming "a big Christmas album".

Negotiations could also include more novel ways of releasing the album. In an age in which the likes of Radiohead offer their album via their website, is it enough to simply released Chinese Democracy in the traditional manner?

Stay tuned for the full, unexpurgated story behind a year in the making of Chinese Democracy in the next issue of Classic Rock, on sale on February 6!

Thank God our long national nightmare is almost over.

No, really, I'm sure it's almost over this time.

The only song I've heard is Better and I'm surprised to say that I liked it.

Better is decent, and some of the other "new" tracks are okay, too--but none of them live up to the years and years of delays and millions and millions of dollars that have gone into them.

The songs will never live up to the hype.  But the material is good.  Of course, with band members coming and going, it doesn't make sense to release recorded material with people that are no longer in the band.  The band and sound changes everytime someone joins the band. :P

No one can doubt Buckethead's skills, but after he left, all that recorded material was useless.
