Just got back from Gn'R... holy hell! My ears are still ringing & we sat 8 rows near the top on the far end. Man that was ******* loud & **** did the place rock, so did the guy drunk next to my bud. It's a concert man, get on your feet & party... yeah he passed out & his girl friend/wife was not impressed with him.  ;D

Our review is out & not to shabby, 9800 showed up, not bad. A 10:30pm start & it ended at 1:40am. Good thing I had the nite off.  :P

Yep, I liked it.  8)

GnR at the Super Bowl?

It's being reported there are rumors swirling around about this.  Axl has said no on his twitter account from some stuff I've read, but maybe this will come to fruition.  Maybe they would be good, maybe not.  But it would be nice to see them together.

That would be the only way to undo the horror of Fergie singing ruining Sweet Child O' Mine.

Every year people piss and moan about the Super Bowl half time show.  I'm sure if they got together and Axl missed a word to a song it would cast the world into Armaggedon.  Anyway, it won't happen so onto the next group that will "suck" at this event.

Do they really, though?  Because from Nipplegate up until this year, the halftime shows have been pretty kick-ass.

The seven years before Janet:

1997:  The Blues Brothers, ZZ Top, James Brown, Catherine Crier
1998:  Boyz II Men, Smokey Robinson, Martha Reeves, The Temptations, Queen Latifah, Grambling State University Band
1999:  Chaka Khan, Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Savion Glover, Kiss
2000:  Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton, 80-person choir, Edward James Olmos
2001:  Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Aerosmith, 'N Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige, Nelly
2002:  U2
2003:  Shania Twain, No Doubt, Sting

The seven years after:

2005:  Paul McCartney
2006:  The Rolling Stones
2007:  Prince
2008:  Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
2009:  Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
2010:  The Who
2011:  The Blackeyed Peas

I don't remember too many people bitching about those recent shows at all.

Would never happen--he has all those teleprompters set up all over the stage for a reason--so he won't have to remember the lyrics to songs he wrote and started performing 25 years ago.

Speaking of which, next year is the actual 25th anniversary of Appetite for Destruction, and there's a pretty good chance that they'll be nominated/inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  If they do get inducted, which I think would be at the end of 2012, there would be a lot of pressure on them to reunite for the ceremony in March 2013 (I think).

Lots of issues with these guys, though.  I don't think the Super Bowl thing will happen, but you never know.  Slightly better chance at the RNRHOF.

This year was really bad, but other than that they have been entertaining.

Picked up Chinese Democracy at Best Buy today for $1.99. That's no typo. I believe I was also the first person to purchase this fine work of art from this particular store, as they still had plenty of copies, still on the same shelf as the day the CD was launched.

I was a Jr in college at UCF.

Great album, and the last thing I purchased that had anything to do with GnR.   :D
This is the way.

I'm tempted to go when they are here in Dallas. But I can't seem to get any info if they have anyone opening for them.

I'm also stuck with the GnR that I love from the 80's and it just wouldn't be the same seeing Axl with his rent-a-band with him.  It's kind of like an Axl solo project now.

GnR, loved them back in the day, but I agree it's a shame everything fell apart. Sure, the sound and performance of the 'new' band will be great, but it just wouldn't feel right you know.
