Without getting political, "our representative government" is hellbent on not raising the minimum wage, but they readily vote themselves raises whenever the moment suits them.

Actually, didn't minimum wage just increase to $6.15 like this month? That's a buck an hour raise. Now if they'd just give everyone a buck an hour raise, things would be a little easier.

Gas for me was $2.55 yesterday. I remember when it sucked ass just paying $2 a gallon. How I long for those days now.  :-\

I couldn't drive, but I do remember the .99 days.  Now being 19 years old, I'm just glad I drive a small car.  When I first started driving going to high school and what not, I'd fill my tank up for 10 bucks.  Now I'm paying close to 20 to fill the whole tank, when I'm about empty.  Being a college kid now, I really don't have the money to be throwing away to the gas tank....Just glad she's a small car.
I'd rather a life full of mistakes then regrets;  But not mistakes that become regrets.

Mmm...I remember when 5 bucks would put me at half a tank. Now 5 bucks barely breaches a quarter of a tank. :-\

After putting $50 worth of gas in my truck yesterday, I actually considered selling my beloved 4X4.   If I could find another pickup, possibly the Titan, with better mileage, I might consider getting rid of it.

Although gas really is creaping up slower than inflation, it has made a huge jump in the past year and a half.  Living on a teacher's salary that increases at a lower rate than inflation, this is shortly going to become a sticky situation.  Lucky for my wife and I (both teachers) I don't drive my truck except to work...but she drives about 30 miles one way in her little Hyundai Santa Fe.  Her mileage is pretty good, but not so much for my Ford.

FWIW, if you guys are having some issues, a tune up and regular oil changes will help to a degree.  The engine will run more efficient...also be sure to keep your tire pressure at the recommended levels.  Preventative maintenance will help with fuel efficiency, as well as long term damage to the pocketbook when something breaks.

Sorry that's long, my mind is kind of jumping all over the place.

Damn, in comparison to the prices I've seen here, it almost feels like a bargain filling up at $2.38 a gallon.

250 miles per gallon - can be done, there's just too much political BS....

When I filled on the weekend it was $2.29 I think. I saw $2.66 today. That actually kind of scared me. Could this a harbinger of the impending "Oil Crash" that doomsayers have been predicting for years?
