Yep, all things are relative and California shouldn't be compared to anywhere.

I expect within a week I'll be paying double what I did when I started my job out of town 6 years ago :-\

Had to fill up the "nice" car yesterday, which takes minimum 91 oct. Ran me $2.56 a gallon. Thank you, Los Angeles, may I have another?

Seems to be a pretty standard $1.89 here in the Nashville area, luckily TN has always ranked among the cheapest prices for gas nationwide. I just got back from Indy yesterday and the cheapest I saw in that area wa $2.14.

Well, Memorial Day has come and gone...

The highest I saw prices here reach was $2.299 per gallon, Wednesday before Memorial Day.

Prices have been slowly trickling back down over the last two weeks.  I filled up the car this morning at $1.789 per gallon!

I was actually excited to pay less than $1.80 per gallon again... funny how time change so quickly.  Seems like just a year ago I was paying around $1.25 per gallon and thought that was high.

:(

The cheapest I've been able to find recently is $1.99 a gallon.  This sucks.

I had head OPEC was at max production a while ago but then announced a 10% increase the supply.  Not sure how they will do that

Read a real interesting article on Fuel Cells in my ChemE magazine...they are predicting it will be at least 20 years before the infrastructure is there to begin full scale fuel cell use

I would hope more and more and more companies start investigating Hybrids like the Prius and upcoming Escape

I've found two gas stations within about 20 miles that have gas at "only" $2.25, so that's where I've been filling up.  Most gas stations around here range from the $2.30's to the $2.60's.  Sucks.   :-\

Just saw a CNN report yesterday though, that said supply's gonna be bumped up during the summer, and the prices should be dropping a little.  I'll believe it when I see it.

If Honda would expand the range of their hybrod line to include a Hybrid CR-V or Element, I'm all over that.  It's taken this gas crunch for me to really get on board.

My local Arco station is dropping its prices over the past few days it started tuesday at $2.25 and now is at $2.19 a gallon.  Hopefully this means it will eventually go down to where it was before this summer.

In Pittsburgh we're dwn to $1.89 at a lot of shops in my area which means it's likely a LITTLE cheaper nearer the city.

It's cheaper out here if you get your gas at the local Giant Eagle or Get-Go places since Giant Eagle issues $.10 coupons per gallon at their grocery stores (should you shop there).

$1.79's not bad at all, all things cnsidered.  Sad that it was substantially less than that  not too long ago, but that's what things have come to I guess.

I passed by a Hess station tonight and saw $1.97.  I nearly had to do a double take just to make sure I wasn't seeing things!
