The first few seasons have been out of print for years now anyway... sad move, but I stopped buying the DVDs after season 12-ish. I couldn't tell you anything about the newer seasons, so I won't lose any sleep over this move.

It's not like that show changes and evolves. The characters don't get older and Maggie is still a baby. At least one of these 40-50 year old soap operas get new main characters but this show never does that.  I haven't actually sought out watching that show in about twenty years. It's like SNL, it just won't die. It's like the network is contractually obligated to continue making it forever.

A couple of caveats: His guest spot is only a cameo, and it comes in the form of an apparition (see image above), as Sideshow Bob and the ghost of Grimey join forces with two other characters over a shared hatred. “They’re forming a sinister squadron of Simpsons enemies to try to kill the Simpsons,” executive producer Al Jean tells EW. “If that doesn’t make people tune in, I don’t know what else we can say.”

How about what you can DO. Make good episodes. You can bring back characters for more than a pre-credits cameo.

I'd be more impressed if Homer's brother Herb came back.

Season premiere. Springfield gets trashed, only to get restored and that was just the lead in to another plot to make Mr. Burns pathetic. Shouldn't Lard Lad's corporation have paid for it anyway?

Show after it. Son of Zorn, the latest in a long, long list of doomed post-Simpsons timeslot shows. They might as well air static.

I didn't have anything else to do and still had no interest in watching. And I've seen every episode. Show fatigue.

I just read it was the most-viewed show Sunday night, excepting football.  Not too shabby after 28 years.
