Me and my Brother played NCAA 2004 on Saturday and listened on Random to 5 Pearl Jam CD's (shock) Vs, No Code, Yield, Binaural and Riot Act...

Good ******* Lord.  There are other bands out there, you know. . .

You know, with all of this talk of the land Down Under, I'm almost of the thought that a certain other miscellaneous forum may be in need of an Official Australia Appreciation Thread.  Hmmm. . .

(Or an UnAppreciation Thread, as it were. . .)

(Oh, and now playing:  Portishead, self-titled.)

Portishead's cool.  Glorybox is one of the coolest things I've ever heard recorded.

As for Aussie band's, I think I'm going to pick up Jet's album.  I've been hearing the single for some time, and caught the video too.  Pretty cool concept there, and I don't care for most videos.  What cinched it for me about Jet is this:  the Strokes don't like them, so Jet might be cool by me.  Sorry, but I just find the Strokes to be a little too pretentious, musically lazy, and far too wrapped up in their own press clippings.

Yeah, they are.

With that said, it's probably time to admit that I don't actually listen to anything that I say I listen to.

I just pick some bands that other people listen to, and say that I listen to them, too, to make myself seem cooler than I really am.

Basically, all I ever listen to are Phil Collins and Billy Ocean.  Oh, and The Wiggles.

Wait...was that a dig on me >:(

Currently I have Creed in my Computer...good stuff :-*

I've thought about getting the REM greatest hits package with the B-Sides and Rarities bonus disc, anyone have that?  I have it on my Christmas list but whenever I look at Target and Best Buy the 2 disc set is usually sold out.  For a few bucks more it seems like a good deal

I also want to pick up the latest Neil Young CD, heard some good stuff about that one

And when does the Naked Let it Be come out again, that is also a definite must buy

I've already had to refer to someone else as "numbnuts" this week--don't make me do it again.  And, you listen to Billy Ocean?

Ironically, they're better than the band they emulate!

Check Page 1, numbnuts.

Just the one discer, Scott.  Usually I try to get the super special edition, but some reason Walmart didn't have it and I was jonesing for REM, so I bought the one discer. For less than $10, I can't complain.

Starting today off with the little-known Edward Louis Severson the Third, and his band of roving minstrels. . .

The man upstairs is used to all of this f***in' noise/

OK...I have only listened to disc 1 so far of Lost Dogs, but i came up with a list of stuff that they could have included as well (especially the Singles and Merkinball stuff):

Angel
Breath
Happy When I'm Crying
I Got ****
Leatherman
Olympic Platinum
State of Love and Trust
The Long Road

And there are a bunch of covers that they have studio recorded that probably wouldn't be on these but they could have included them:

Don't Believe in Christmas
Against the 70's
Can't Help Falling In Love Again
Crazy Mary
Gimme Some Truth
Hunger Strike
Last Soldier
Soldier of Love
Sonic Reducer
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

Some of the new songs are pretty good, some of them aren't, I watched part of the DVD last night...also some good stuff

Right now I am listening to TTT Soundtrack :-*

Re: What's spinning?

Isn't it those excercise classes with the bikes that you ride?   ::)

As for me, I'm in oldies mode right now.  Some Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, James Brown, The Platters & Drifters, Sam Cooke, etc.

Not exactly Pearl Jam and the like, I know.   :-[

Damn. . .  Now that's twice today that I've been rolleye-smileyed.  Anyone else?

(And, I know.  I hate that title.  It's just that--all the good ones were already taken. . .)

Hell, dude, nothing wrong with that.  Besides, if it wasn't for those guys, most (if not all) of the bands we listen to today wouldn't be here!
