"It was dark all around.
There was frost in the ground
When the tigers broke free.
And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company C.
They were all left behind,
Most of them dead,
The rest of them dying.
And that's how the High Command
Took my daddy from me."

Yes, that's Handel's Messiah.

And no, I'm not entirely sure why, either.

Strange beautiful grass of green,
With your majestic silver seas
Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer
May I land my kinky machine
don't you know there ain't no devil, there's just God when he's drunk

As you can see, my library is a rather bizarre mixture of music. "Shuffle" can be jarring sometimes. :p

It wasn't all too long ago that I popped the old Jolson 45's onto the Victrola for spin. Rather enjoyable. Currently listening to "Rosenstolz: Kassengift (2000)".

What do the Beatles fans here think of LOVE? I think it’s great, better than a singles compilation, for sure – I just wish I could see the actual show. Does anyone know if the show will ever find it’s way on DVD, or is Las Vegas the only option?

Speaking of the Beatles... Does anyone know where I could download the full version of Paul’s “Can You Take Me Back”? You can hear it in LOVE, and on the White Album, but only about 15 seconds worth. I read somewhere that the original is somewhere over 2 minutes in length.

In my quest to complete my Pearl Jam library, a friend was kind enough to pass along this import.
