That is a great disk.  I really wish that Layne Staley would have been clean enough for them to do the follow-up to this.  I thought the last article I read back in the day stated they had enough material to release a 2-disk set.  Too bad we'll never get the chance...

One of my own forgotten gems of the 90's as well, I recently broke out it again and maybe because I'm older or something but its so damn depressingly good its not even funny.  2 of the Alice CD's are probably in my top 20 of all time (both of the EP's SAP and Jar of Flies).  I even haven't mentioned McCready yet...only after I started going to live Pearl Jam shows did I realize the glue of the band, and its Mike McCready, he is absolutely amazing and his guitar work on Above is superb

Imagine Avril Lavigne making an alternative-metal album. But it's not as bad as that sounds on paper.
