Morgbug,I noticed something on your list, shouldn't your money be in CND,not USD.

Yes and no.  I actually purchase relatively little here in Canada, aside from sportspicks and the occasional star wars toy.  Most things come in from the US.  I can convert it back at any time using historical exchange rates for the days listed.  Currently the Canuck buck is sitting at around $0.77 US.

I wanted to use the number for a comparison with most of the members down here.  Dale will spend way more money than me anyway.

do sales of stuff deduct from your total...I actually stopped coming to the websites and stopped buying stuff because i found myself spending 500 in a month. I never found myself without money for bills, but it was getting silly.

I see that some of you are keeping a running tally. Are we supposed to do that? This thread would get pretty huge if so.  :)

I'm already at about 200 bucks, and tracking that has actually made me start to seriously ponder whether or not I should continue buying toys.

Not the effect I'm sure this whole thing was going for, but that's what it's having on me right now.

Keep track just don't feel the need to post that you updated your list so to speak.  Maybe a monthly update might be in order???

What to do about buying say, Muppet figures, for friends in say, Canada, that you are trading?  Count them plus shipping??? I suppose so...

Well, it's up to you really.  I'm counting every toy I buy that isn't specifically for my daughter.  I'm counting trade bait and any and all shipping.

I'm not counting shipping on stuff I sell because I'm not technically paying it.  For example, a bud in NC asked me to pick up a 12" Lemieux for him but he's paying for it plus all shipping costs, so it doesn't count.

Stuff I snag for trading does.

Au contraire, mon ami.  That is exactly the effect I was hoping it would have on me.  It's all of a little past week 1 and I've dropped well over $200.  That would be $10,400 for the year.  A little over double my estimate.  It is the sobering thought I needed.  Not to say it's going to slow me down that much, but it's made me rethink a lot of vintage auctions on ebay.

Unfortunately I just got hit with McFarlane hockey figures, essentially my best trade bait, so that adds a chunk of change.

Well, I think you're winning, but maybe others are just posting in their own threads, like I am.  I'm not updating each time in a new post, just the same old post with my running tally.

If it's any consolation, you make me feel a lot better about my spending habits ;D

Damn Dave, slow down a little bit ;)

I'm not keeping track in this thread but on a seperate excel spreadsheet.  I'll probably give a monthly update.

Cool, cuz I'm selling a bunch of stuff, so maybe I can end up on the profit side ;)

Do we put stuff like CDs and DVDs?
