That's hilarious!!  Poor little guy looks buzzed out of his mind.  Looks like he passed out before he could even start on that last bottle...

I think they're a bit large... making them the same size as the avatars is a little busy over on the left.

I agree - I think they look awesome though, but way too big...too much white me thinks - but that's just me.  I find myself constantly looking to the left portion of my screen now.

That's not bad - I'm still a fan of removing the white space if the staff is going to make changes to these:

Use a better browser... IE sucks.  :-*

I really like Google Chrome if you are looking to upgrade. IE apparently has trouble compressing the PNGs (which look much better than GIF files) hence the box that you notice around the badges. It is just one one the many things wrong with the that browser. That box shouldn't be there. All of these have been circles to begin with. Check out the two screenshots attached to my post here. The first is in IE and the second is how it should look (taken in Google Chrome.) This is just one more reason to hate IE. It is the only browesr (that I have heard of) that does this.

We are looking into the issue now to try and fix this for everyone who still uses that ****** browser.  :-\

Good thing you closed those tabs of porn before you took the screenshot.

The circle "look" definitely looks nice and sharp.  I hope you guys can get that issue fixed for all of us dinosaurs stuck with IE.  I'm on JD primarily at work so I don't think I could ask for a browser upgrade.  Jay made me a new WM avatar awhile back and it suffered from the same problem so I still have it shelved.

For what it is worth, everyone should at least be on IE 7 now (IE 8 is the latest). IE 6 really isn't supported much anymore. I run IE7 and everything looks fine. In IE8, if you choose compatibility mode it might fix the "problem."

Man, people still use IE? I haven't gone back after discovering Firefox.

Did someone say something about smaller badges?  :)

We had decided to try out the 50x50 badges for a day or so to see how they looked. We ultimately decided we liked the 40x40 versions better. We also changed The Spirit Of badge to the OT puppet rather than the CGI version.

They are still in .PSD format. The .GIF format doesn't look good. So those of you with IE 6 had better upgrade your browser (or convince your office to) it is more than dead at this point. Otherwise, get used to the squares, there isn't an easy way for us to make it work for the dead browser.

I see the squares, and honestly they don't bother me at all.  I'm not wild about the newer versions of IE, and I don't have any desire to change to a new browser all together...  I'll live with the squares, and eventually someday if forced to, I'll have a browser that makes 'em disappear.

Otherwise they're fine to me.

I hate the newer versions too, so I stuck with IE 6 long until fairly recently. I didn't even know I hated it until I tried Chrome. Now I'll never go back.

I'm in the same boat as Mike with IE6 at work.  We have well over 5,000 employees, so I'm guessing they won't be very responsive to upgrading everyone, so that I don't have to look at the boxes around our forum ranks.   ;)  Nice to hear that was the original intent though!

Thumbs up from me on the new sizes - much better. The only other aesthetic suggestion I have is to place the two Yoda graphics inside circles of the same diameter as the symbols, just to even out the shapes. Otherwise, they might look a bit like a second avatar for those who have them.

Just a suggestion....

I still use IE6 & have no problems with the squares. I have Firefox on my laptop but I would have to install a Russian language in order for it to work.  :P
