R1-G4
« on: January 9, 2004, 12:51 PM »
The detailing on this is nice.  I am disappointed that nothing on it moves except the 2 little clamp arms (which really don't do that much).

The head rotates?  I guess I just didn't try turning it hard enough--I couldn't get anything to twist.

Yeah you have to give it a good turn but it moves and it moves pretty freely...again great figure!

My head on this figure was tight! I did not want to risk breaking it. Now that I know for sure the head turns I might work with it.
For those of you looking for me. I am now at www.sandtroopers.com

I just missed this figure at my Targe apparently.  They did have the R2 bartender figure though and the Hoth wave.  I would have been super stoked if the R1 would have been there.

It feels like the base wants to turn, too, but it doesn't.

Other than R5-D4, 3P0, r2, and the gonk, do we have any other figures already made or in the works to put in our dioramas with the jawas and owen?

While not technically there, the treadwell droid that came with Beru makes a nice stand in.

Figures that have been made:

Uncle Owen
Luke Skywalker
C-3PO
R2-D2
R5-D4
R1-G4
4 or 5 Different Jawas

Still needs to be made:

LIN-V8K

Treadwell WED Droid

2X-7KPR

Then you could add in a Gonk, Cz-3 and RA-7 as a not good enough to sell trio  :)

There is also another 2X model on the Lars homestead

And here's Little Abe Lincoln...seen inside the Sandcrawler

The head on my R1-G4 does move, but it's a very tight fit.  I was kind of worried about forcing it to move, so I just pretty much left it as is.  It also seems like there's a circular joint more toward the base of it.  I didn't try moving it too much, because I didn't want to end up breaking this awesome figure.  The detail on it is amazing... spitting image of the one in the ANH.  I love it!

I got one, and this really is a great figure.  It's certainly as tall as my C-3PO.  And who would've thought this figure would get 4 points of articulation?  What, with the head, base and two utility arms that's more than I expected.

This figure is outstanding, These are the kind of accessories I love to get for my Cantina - Mos Eisley diorama. Keep em coming Hasbro, the more the better I say. Population is growing. :D

at least they didn't add some "hidden missle" like they did to R2-D4

Hasbro really has no excuse for not making a great (or good even) R5-D4 yet.  If they can make R1 that good and all the arms and articulation for the POTJ FX-7, then we should have a good R5 by now.   In fact, the vintage FX-7 is leap years ahead of the POTF2 R5.   They have to be coming out with one in 2004, but when will it be confirmed?   This is LONG overdue.
