« on: August 2, 2003, 06:09 PM »

I've gotten Plo Koon's cloak off.  Saesee Tiin's is a little stubborn though.

When I first got htese figures I spent an aftermoom stripping them down (And then getting them dressed again.) The figures are fully painted and sculpted under their robes, but the sculpting to allow for hip articulation reminded me a lot of the old vintage figures (think Tatooine Luke or Ben Kenobi's hip joints.)

I found it was easier to pop the lower parts of their arms off to help slide their robes off.

If you heat these guys up in a lil boiling water their robes will pop right off for you to admire the sculpts underneath.

I recently purchased Darth Sidious, Coruscant Guard, Plo Koon, and Saesee Tiin to see what's under those robes...boy was I disappointed.

You aren't missing much, but I could still take a photo of Tiin and Koon for you if you'd like. :)

EDIT: You can actually find pics of Tiin here:

What about the Darth Sidious figure?  There's got to be something worthy of custom fodder under that robe.

Sidious had a great generic torso...  Very plain, very good for sculpting.  His legs are very neutral as well, but I think his lower torso had like a "rope" belt on it sort of...

Very strange sculpting under there...  I miss the good old days of figures being good fodder even if they had a robe that covered them.  I think Orn Free Taa would've been great fat man fodder.

It took me awhile to get Saesee's cloak off, and in the end, it was disapointing. His arms get really loose without the cloak.
