Karate Kid
« on: February 9, 2004, 11:31 AM »

I watched this last night for the first time in at least 10 years (it was on ESPN Classic) What a total schlock fest, Daniel-San still brings a small tear to my eye when he knocks out Johnny with "The Kick"

I also like breaking out that move around my brother, its unstoppable

Yep, one of those classics that'll always be a little cheesy, but will still be "moving" to most people (not that I'd admit that  :P).  I still find myself saying "paint the fence, wax the car" from time to time.   ;)

I liked Karate Kid II a lot as well.  The Japanese girl (don't recall her name right now) in that one was very cool...   :-*   :-*   :-*

Funny, and here I thought you'd be saying wax on, whacks off :-*

Sorry, having a bad spelling day.

I remember watching DanielSan quite a few times one summer, it really got to me how cheesy Ralph Macchio must have felt playing this 16 Year Old at the ripe old age of 23!!!

Um...that would be "the Crane kick" (if do right, there is no defense). Show some respect to the man.

 :)

So...did anyone catch Hillary Swank in the Karate Kid 4? I unfortunately did, and still wonder to this day who would win in a fight. Daniel-San or Julie...san.

The Crane Kick, excellent, its always good for a laugh as well when you move into the position.

I'm still wondering how 23 year old Daniel-San was able to pull off a 16 year old wimp

I ran into these guys on Halloween last year in Vegas at Comic Con.

Apparently, they were having a bachelor party, so the bachelor is Daniel San in the white...and the rest of the guys were Cobra Kai. There were like 15 of them. They also had ANOTHER Daniel San in the shower-costume.

Pretty cool idea.
Keeping the movies alive.  :)

(I've got pictures, but the stupid link isn't working today for some reason).

FYI...William Zabka aka Johnny was nominated for an Oscar for his Short Film "Most", just like in KK he got a shot to the chops as he didn't win ****

I  own this movie on DVD, and I love it, great movie.  I remember going to see it at the theater when I was a kid.
