"No end in sight"? I'm sorry, I haven't even been able to chuckle at some of the last few episodes.

But, that's just me.

I like the idea, but I can only imagine watching it in a theater with a bunch of boobs thinking they're in their own living rooms.  Sorry, but the last few movies I've seen have scarred me again.

Would be a neat idea and I sure would be happy to see it.  Must say though that I think interest in the Simpsons is waning as well.  Must get deep space Homer...

I heard that they wouldn't make this until the series was cancelled/ended.

You know, I remember hearing about the South Park movie and thinking "South Park isn't that funny right now. This is a dumb idea". It turned out to be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

Granted, the Simpsons have been on a LOT longer, but maybe there's something they can do to breath life in it. Get Conan back or something.  ;D

Forgive my laziness for not browsing through the link there, but I assume this is going to be animated right, and not live action like the Flinstones was, for example?  Hopefully they'll slap an R rating on it, and really let the characters go to town!   8)

Simpsons Movie News

I'll admit my interest in said show has waned considerably in the last two years....I still would go and see a big screen Simpsons movie

The episode where Bart converted to Catholicism had me howling.  One of the best episodes in years.  I thought the 2005/06 season started strong, was weak in the middle, and ended very strong.

I do think they could use some fresh writing blood.  But I don't see any reason why the series shouldn't continue.  It's still funnier than 99% of the rest of what's on TV.

Huge fan of the show - and I must admit the past few years have been a struggle, although this year was pretty damn good.

Yeah, I'd fork over the doh to see a movie - though I wouldn't expect much.

I still enjoy the series too, although I will admit it has its weak episodes.  I guess after this many years, it is bound to happen.  I'm one who hopes it continues as well, its just nice always "counting on" the Simpsons every Sunday night.  I'd be all for a movie as well, and I'd be curious how it would turn out.  I'm sure it would do pretty well, Simpsons has become as much of a pulp culture icon as Star Wars at this point I think.

I was just an industry function that Mike Scully attended. There was confimation that he is one of the script writers of the feature. ;D Now if only Brad Birb and Conan O'Brian were also involved.

After seeing this past season, I have faith they'll pull off the movie well.  :)

Apparently, a teaser for the 2007 movie was shown prior to some screenings of Ice Age 2 this weekend.  Also, if anyone watched the Simpsons last night, it was shown during the show as well.  Very short, but it did announce that the Simpsons movie would be hitting theatres on July 27, 2007.
