Taxes

Just filed my taxes and I'm getting a whopping $650 back!  SD has no income tax!  They collect through property and sales taxes...pretty sweet gig I'd say

We're gonna get a new TV

Did my taxes via TurboTax online on Monday...pretty sweet deal actually, we'll be getting $2700 back Federal and $400 back from MN.  Not sure if that's good or bad, I think I'd rather pay in a little bit rather than get a whopping amount back and do with the money what I should (like invest it)

It comes at a great time though, wifey will be on upaid leave for 6 weeks in a few short weeks :)

I'm getting back $270 from the Feds and $35 from the state.  I would of gotten more if I didn't report my strike pay but I didn't want to get in touble.

Well, Patty and I went to see our accountant last night, and pretty much got royally screwed to the tune of about two grand.   :'(

I wasn't too terribly surprised though, since one of her jobs is a contracting job that she doesn't even pay taxes on during the year.  Oh well.  Guess the new Widescreen TV's gonna have to wait just a little longer!   :-\

I'm expecting a whopping 100$ or so back.  Yippee.

As long as I don't end up owing - I'll be happy.

On our regular State and Federal taxes, we got those handled already.  But I brainfarted on property taxes which were technically due (with a postmark) April 12th.  I actually stamped an envelope here at the office that evening, with our fancy postal machine that prints out the postage in red ink, with the date and all that jazz, just like the Post Office does.  So I may be in the clear, even though we put it out last night which means it didn't get processed through the a real Post Office until this morning.  So I'm anxiously waiting to find out if our stamp here at the office will suffice for the date, of if we're gonna wind up one damned day late, and having to pay $150 in late fees...   :-\

I had to pay in $211, but I get $83 back from Iowa, so it's kind of a wash.

I'd rather pay in so the government can't collect the interest on your money before giving it back.

I've reached a new low in procrastination - I'm just now going to do my taxes tomorrow morning. This is incredibly stupid since I itemize everything. Probably end up getting money back from the state and owe federal, as usual.  ::) Down with the man.

I have a tendency to file my taxes in February if I'm getting money back, and April if I have to pay. :)

This year, not only did I file in February, but I've already received my refunds from both State and Fed taxes.  It's sitting in the bank to be used in this summers construction project:

A Deck/Patio.

I guess I would rather have paid in this year, it would have saved me from a summer's worth of deck-building :P

Of course, I'll probably be singing a different tune when I'm sitting on a lounge chair on my new deck, listening to a Twins game on the radio on a sunny August afternoon with a book in one hand and a "refreshing beverage" in the other ;)
