Yeah, no call up here either Dale.   :(  All things in time though. Worse for me, I used a US address to order, so I should have been called.

Sent them a nice polite email as well, suggesting that prioritization for those that already ordered shouldn't be a difficult thing to do.  Simply honor the orders already placed in the order in which they were received.  I did receive an auto reply that stated I would be contacted shortly, but we shall see what happens.

I confirm what Scott said about the cases.  And I'll confirm about what Jesse said about Newforce ;)  I'm just waiting to see how Dale's shipping is handled.  If a brokerage firm is involved, Newforce will still have my business.  I'm certainly not paying FedEx $20-30 just for doing something the post office can do for next to nothing.

Like I said in the email, the store was very nicely laid out. Everything worked very, very smoothly and items were easy to find.  I hope they get it all fixed and up soon.

Check that, they don't hate (blame?) Canada.

Got a response to the emai and a phone call today.  Same as everyone else has indicated.  At least they are trying.

Well, I just got off the phone with a rep from starwarsshop.com. I had a very pleasant chat with her after going through the name & address check.

I mentioned to her about the shipping to Canada & that the items may go through a broker which will result in higher fees to us. She was unaware of this & will pass the information on to there customer service department.

I think she was also shocked when I mentioned that they were the talk of the internet & that I was staff of a SW forum site.  ;D  I didn't say which one!

I e-mailed the customer service last night and today I received a reply.

Dear Customer,
We understand your concern regarding priority on orders of limited quantity items such as the green trooper bust, vader cinemacast, etc.  We are attempting to come up with a solution that will allow those who purchased such items on March 10 to retain their priority.  We will update you on our progress shortly.

Sincerely,

Has anyone heard anything new when the SWS might be opening back up?  It sounded as if they would let everyone know in advance, so I am sure all the collecting sites will have it posted, just curious.  I kind of thought it might be back up sometime this week (hopefully soon).

Still no word, they must be doing some hard core testing and trying to figure out how they can appease the people who ordered first...

My guess is that they've received enough comments regarding already placed orders that they're working hard on a system to honor those orders already placed and then determine how much stock of the hotter items (clone bust, Kermit, poster) they have left.

I would also suggest that their system might not have had a quota system in place, surprising as that may be.  The system probably logged a lot of sales and they might have been caught off guard, overselling certain items.  I know that sounds silly in this day and age of online ordering software, but look at the problems they've already had.  A further glitch like that would be no surprise.

Anybody think that online stores like EE, Newforce, Yestertoys, etc are none too pleased to see SSW.com?

Out of the mouth of babes....

Dear Customer,
Ensuring the security of our customers is our top priority, and the
StarWarsShop.com team is hard at work making sure everything will be ready for
the re-opening. At this time, we do not have a set date for the launch, but stay
tuned to this space and starwars.com. We will announce our plans in advance, and
provide you as much notice as possible.
The StarWarsShop.com team is also putting plans in place to allow customers
placing orders during our initial launch to be first in line for
limited-quantity exclusives like the Green Clone Trooper Bust, Darth Vader
Cinemacast, Adventure Kermit and others. Details will follow here and on
starwars.com.
Thank you to all of our fans for their patience, encouragement, support and
enthusiasm.

Sincerely,

I was just going to post about the email that alot of people are getting which you posted already, Brent.  SSW is making this nightmare into a good thing for them with all of the great service they are showing their customers with the Phone calls, emails, patches and the GC.  With that GC I'm probally going to order a case of figures so that I can catch up a little bit.
