4 of my great grandparents emigrated from Finland to Minnesota in the later 1800's/early 1900's.  Both of them started farming in the same general area of Northwestern Minnesota.  My grandparents lived in between the two families.  My grandfather was a logger for a while and then worked for the county (he died in 1993), my grandmother was a seamstress.  My grandma still speaks fluent Finn (as do her brother and sisters).  



She has a sauna at her house, complete with wood fired stove and rocks...the whole works.  Some of my favorite memories growing up are taking sauna baths at their house in the winter.  Me, my brother and cousin would try and get the thing as hot as we could and see who could stay in the longest...
