Yeah, these rehashes are getting very old... but I do like the center floor pieces being added.  Guess I will be getting these after all! :)

I'm also glad to have a Ki Adi Mundi that can sit finally.  Yipeee

I would've preferred a new Qui-Gon, or have something like I did.  I took off Tatooine Qui-Gon's poncho and gave him a Jedi robe, and I think it's one of the best Qui-Gon's I have.

As for the Obi-Wan, I wish they'd used another as well.  Either the Naboo one with the cloak, or the SG one plus a SG cloak.

The other figures are fine.

Based on new pix around the net, it looks like these two new Jedi Council sets are coming in OTC packaging, so I've moved our conversation about them over here in the OTC forum.  I did leave behind (in the Saga forum) the discussion on whether or not we had a complete Jedi Council after the first two sets came out last year.  So if you're looking for that discussion, it's still right here.

I'll toss those pix back in this thread though, for everyone's enjoyment:

Ki-Adi Mundi never wore a Jedi Cloak though, did he?  I know he didn't in TPM for sure.  I think that's a slight oversight there...

The center sections of the floor makes up for a lot of problems with the sets, but come on... 1999 Qui Gon?  ??? Kitbashing the seated Jedi are fine, but honestly, kids and collectors take one look at this on the shelves and see those Ep1 rehashes standing there, with no modification over their 1999 pegwarming incarnations, and interest in the set will dwindle even faster than the last sets, which were actually good.

Haaaaaaassssssbro!

Hasbro should have offered up the soft goods Qui with a cloth robe instead. That would have helped.

The OTC packaging doesn't do much for it, either, for better or worse.

Yeah, this Jedi Council set is probably the weakest effort I've ever seen from Hasbro, and that's saying something.  I'm really disappointed with it.

Yeah, I'm laugin' it up over that one.  I wannna see that as our new mascot.  The quote's just too much.  :)

The kitbashes are sort of silly.  Sculpt a new head at least, ya know?  And you KNOW these aren't going to be like $10 or so, to adjust for the obviously lessened cost of mold tooling.

I mean, give a new head to Eeth Sloth...  Give some figures a LITTLE retooling.  Not everything, just a little bit.  Make it worth the (you know it's gonna cost) price they'll inevitably charge.

Cloth does NOT cost this much.  I've been to the fabric store looking to do my own soft-goods customs, it doesn't cost an arm & a leg for some knit fabric!   :P

Sweetness.  Check it out...

Not perfect, but pretty cool to see all 6 official sets together for the first time.  Picture courtesy 4-inches.de

Looks real nice all put together.  Looks like little Anakin is coming with one of them like most people thought.  I want to retract my earlier statement about the Jedi sets being the weakest effort I'd ever seen from Hasbro.

That's clearly the 'new' Endor Ambush set.

Shakk-Ti looks like she's using her super-posed Saga arms for this figure. That's just bad.  ::)

The council floor, however, sure looks cool all put together.

I think it'll look a lot better, and much less cluttered, when the "standing" figures are removed, so all you have are the seated council members.

Also, anyone see a seated Coleman Trebor in there?  He was on the Council in AOTC, right?  Looks like we'll still technically be missing a number of them in seated poses unfortunately...

Where's Coleman?  And who is standing next to Shaak?  Adi Gallia?

I think it looks like Adi is seated next to Shaak Ti on the right - that looks like her braids... kinda, sorta.

So that magicshell-robe has to be someone else. And who is seated next to it? What were the figures announced for that set?

Here's the back of Adi Gallia...so that is Adi sitting and Stass standing since she wasn't part of the council.  They better not just be repacking Adi >:(  (oh wait this is Hasbro)
