Now that this auction is over!  :o

HUGE VINTAGE STAR WARS LOT - ALL 78-80! WOW!
44 FIGURES, 9 VEHICLES, and 8 PLAYSETS from SW and ESB

Quote
Death Star

1978. Original box. Complete. This is the Kenner, Canadian version from Sears with the yellow “Special!” offer sticker on the box. The 2 Stormtroopers from the box are in with the figures (see above), but otherwise all pieces are here and mint or near mint. I got this set in 78, assembled it, then got the other Death Star, which I thought was cooler, so this one was disassembled and put into storage right away – so, it’s like it wasn’t even played with. A couple of the cardboard walls are very slightly frayed near the tabs where they connect, but this won’t be noticeable when displayed assembled. Instructions included. The box has a few flaws, one face is a bit warped, the flaps are a bit creased and it was taped closed, but it is still bright, no fading and it will display beautifully.

I have seen this playset close up last Friday over at a friends place who just aquired one of these. Very impressive.  :o   8)

What make this auction so neat is that some of the boxes are the Canadian version, very sought after in the collecting field.

And sadly, lots of people saw it and knew it.  I was prepared to drop $1000 on it, but no more.  Nice stuff, nice guy, talked a bit by email.  Unhappy for me, great for him.

Tri Logo 4 PACK Mint/Sealed

wow indeed! went for like $900, i don't know much about the costs of carded figures, but I wonder if the 4 figs individually would add up to that much. shows ya how much a little piece of packaging will do to make a set really cool/desirable
