Art of Revenge
« on: August 16, 2004, 11:13 PM »
New feature for Hyperspace Peeps...weekly shots of Concept art, stuff that maybe even Thomas Hodges hasn't leaked yet :P

First up is a Hybrid X-Wing and Federation GunShip, looks pretty sweet, I believe this was called a W-Wing on TheForce.net for those keeping track

TheForce.net? What's that? Oh yeah, I remember now... they're dead to me. W-wing. They need a warm glass of shut the hell up.

That's a great ship design. Thank the maker for Ryan Church. If he had been in charge of conceptual design from the onset of Ep1, instead of Doug "I draw round things and color them silver" Chiang, the whole PT would have been a lot more like Star Wars visually. That ship makes a perfect connection to the OT while still feeling old-world in tech.

I hope we get a toy of this!

I hope we get a toy of this!

knowing hasbro - there's two possibilities.

(a) no

-or-

(b) yes - in six different colors, with six different kit bashed (read: crappy) pilots, only found at target, on the 6th day of the month, at around midnite (read: very hard to find).

New one up now... Skytrooper. Basically a Clone with swingback wings and exaggerated aerial fins. Pretty nifty.

The Crowd Control Stormtrooper lives?  :P

Just got a chance to check out this feature this morning, and it is pretty neat.  Both of the pics so far have been pretty spiffy, hopefully we'll see them in the movie (especially that W-Wing, nice).

That is cool, so...any other Troopers we haven't seen?  Swamp/Marine?  I wonder if they will do the camo thing too like they showed in the Insider

Those aliens must be CGI characters, this is where Obi-Wan tracks the General too after he escapes from the Opening Battle I believe

Another clone vehicle is up tonight. Nice big transportation tank. I swear, there's enough shown already in concept art to support a pretty dang cool Clone Wars toy line even if half of the concepts don't reach the screen. It all looks so cool.

I can't get over how happy I am Doug Chiang is NOWHERE NEAR Revenge of the Sith.

I agree too, everything has looked great so far.  Also, although I didn't get all of the line when it was out (Clone Wars), they really could go to town on that line if they wanted to I think.  Lots of neat vehicles/concepts to use.
