The Band That, Unbelievably, Is Still Making New Music That, Perhaps Even More Unbelievably, People Are Still Listening To, The Greatest Band in History is set to release more said music (much of which is unheard by said people) something for the Rock Band platform:

Quote
"Backspacer" will also be available on "Rock Band" the day it comes out, and Target has an exclusive on an edition of the album featuring access to download its songs for "Rock Band" on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. It's a precursor to a dedicated Pearl Jam game that could hit stores in 2010.

So I picked up Backspacer today... I had low expectations about it for some reason but after listening to it I really, really like it. So much that I'd say it's one of Pearl Jam's strongest albums. All of the songs flow together seamlessly and keeping it short (total run time is around 36 minutes) was a great idea because there isn't any filler. Also "Got Some" => "The Fixer" => "Johnny Guitar" is one of the coolest trifectas ever. The packaging is really cool too. Highly recommended, and it's on sale for $11.98 at Target until Saturday if anyone is interested.

I picked it up tonight, and I have to say I'd put this up there with Ten and Lost Dogs as my favorite Pearl Jam projects they've released. The album really slides together well, and I like changes of pace. To me this feels familiar, but something entirely new from them. They definitely haven't lost their touch as a band.
The picture kept, will remind me...

Picked up the vinyl LP at Target. I didn't think they'd acutally carry it, but they had a bunch of them. $19.99 plus your state's share. They also had the Backspacer t-shirts with the spaceman and the drums on it, but it was also $20 and I decided it had to wait. The stores that have this shirt can be found here, and I assume that this is the same list that carries the LP, since I didn't see either the shirts nor the LP at the other local Target, which I might add is not a Super Target.

'Turning Mist' features Mike McCready on vocals, which is...well, I'll go with interesting.

Got this email from the 10C today...

Pearl Jam − Live on Ten Legs

Kicking off the band’s twentieth anniversary year and ensuing celebrations in style, Pearl will release a new live compilation album, ‘Live Live On Ten Legs’, on January 17th 2011.

‘Live on Ten Legs’ was recorded over the course of the band’s 2003-2010 world tours by recording engineer John Burton and newly remixed by longtime Pearl Jam engineer Brett Eliason and remastered.

The ‘Live on Ten Legs’ tracklisting (below) spans the entirety of Pearl Jam’s 20-year career catalog and also includes a couple of rare cover versions (Joe Strummer and The Mesceleros’ ‘Arms Aloft’ and Public Image Ltd.’s ‘Public Image’).

Both the CD and box set can be pre-ordered from liveontenlegs.com

A U.S.-based pre-sale of the CD and LP is also available at pearljam.com
Full Tracklisting:

   1. Arms Aloft
   2. World Wide Suicide
   3. Animal
   4. Got Some
   5. State of Love And Trust
   6. I Am Mine
   7. Unthought Known
   8. Rearview Mirror
   9. The Fixer
  10. Nothing As It Seems
  11. In Hiding
  12. Just Breathe
  13. Jeremy
  14. Public Image
  15. Spin the Black Circle
  16. Porch
  17. Alive
  18. Yellow Ledbetter

I should probably go ahead and order the LP, since the previous live LPs from PJ are ridiculously expensive these days. But I have to ask- does a live version of 'Yellow Ledbetter' really need to be on this? I know they've closed every show since 2003 with it, but c'mon.

Super Deluxe reissue of Vs. and Vitalogy

 :o

I would order this, since Vitalogy is one of my favorite PJ albums, but I'm still waiting to receive my CD and LP of Live on Ten Legs from the fan club that I ordered three weeks ago.

Damn, $150 is a lot of scratch.

It is better than paying $150 for the Ten Reissue last year...which to me was still worth it and totally kick ass.  Really looking forward to this one

Ok, looks like there's going to be a "CD only" 3-disc version of the boxset for $30. I'd totally be down for the super deluxe set but I really have no use for the vinyl records. Need to do some further research on this.

Hopefully it's easier to find in stores than the Ten reissue... I could only find it at FYE and had to pay a way inflated price.

Snagged the Deluxe Edition box set of Vs. and Vitalogy today (the 3 disc set with the Live album). It's on sale for $24.99 at Best Buy this week, and I happened to have a gift card, so yeah.
