McCardell was traded to the Chargers yesterday.  He should be playing by then.

Thanks, I missed that.  Jeez, my guys are bouncing a bit.  Morgan went to the Cowboys apparently being reunited with one of his college teammates so hopefully that will help him.  He's been below average, but not awful, at least with respect to my WR's.  Walker had one great game, but aside from that I'm fortunate to see a TD a game out of my guys.

I'll tell you this much though.  I had no plans on relying on San Diego quite so much as a team (LT, McCardell, Def) prior to the start of the season :o

I can always hope some of your guys get hurt this week Zod.

Kevin, no matter - teenager assaults middle aged father, 4 year old daughter devastated to see daddy hurt.  Won't play well in your press release, though I expect it will make you more famous and more typical at the same time :P

I know how it is... I picked up Antonio Bryant and now he's off to the Browns - he had a great start of the season, lots of yards but no TD's - then disappeared and now he's traded...  Oh well.  Meanwhile Keyshawn has finally started scoring some TD's - but then Driver has a 2 TD game and I didn't start him...

Your big strength is definitely those two RB's - by far the best starting RB core of any team in this FF league.  Nice work there.

My running backs are my Achilles heel right now.  Davis got hurt, so he has a total of about 3 points.  Portis can't score (or hold onto the football for that matter) and my bench RBs are just flat out useless.

Yeah.  My RB situation is an odd one too.

Charlie Garner went on IR after just a few games...

Domanick Davis has been a disappointment considering what was expected out of him...  He's had a nagging foot injury and has lost time to Wells who's been doing good.

Travis Henry has been a complete bust so far.

Michael Pittman was meant as insurance but has been doing better than either of those two as of late...

Lo and Behold, Jerome Bettis, who I grabbed in like the 15th round or so has become the leading rushing TD scorer in the league but I only realized that he should be playing two weeks ago.

Thanks.  I felt quite fortunate when Chris selected McNabb with #2.  Then I gambled with Martin and it has paid off quite handsomely.  I read a number of reports that he had worked very hard in the off season and that his attitude was better than it had ever been going into the season.  I was also quite pleased he lasted until so late in the draft, most fortunate.  I had my eye on him right after the fourth round and had to wait about 22 picks to get him, sweating the whole time :o

He's worked well and really, no big disappointments for me.  Believe me, I'm as surprised as everyone else.  Having been in enough hockey pools I know it's how they play in addition to who you have.  I've had great hockey pools and lost and had horrible pools and finished third only losing because of when we could switch guys in and out.  Last year had I switched Khabibulin out for Salo in January (Salo was on fire for that month only) I would have one.  Oh well, it's the way it goes.

Still, how can you not be cocky when your next opponent is a purple helmet or some such thing :P

The guys I had in the hockey pool last year were:

Demitra - big disappointment
Lecavalier - disappointing regular season
Gonchar - ok, but underproduced
Stillman - fantastic season, still can't believe they traded him
Spezza - good guess, but a gamble in the fifth round
Bondra - died when he got traded to Ottawa, too many scorers there
Horcoff - who?
Brunette - who? (unless you live in Minnesota)
Handzus - great late pick
Zetterberg - thanks for breaking your leg
LeClerc - yup, the knee injury was THAT bad
Holmstrom - underproduced on Detroit, how do you do that?
Boguniecki - sophomore jinx in a big way, plus an injury - oops
Khabibulin and Salo were my goalies, both ok, but not great

So a bunch of average guys and I damn near won the thing.

My team is off to a horrible start today. So far I've both WRs, one RB and my kicker already finished and it can't be a good sign when my kicker is the top scorer of my team with 4 pts.  :(

Whew, that's a relief.  Not such a hot week for me, definitely started the wrong QB this week.  Dave have anyone for tomorrow night?  A fair piece nervous today I was/am. :-\

Chad Johnson just caught a 50 yd TD pass. And with that, the mighty Canuckleheads have fallen.  ;D

Sorry bud, but you knew it was coming.  :-*

Damn.  Yeah, I looked and saw Dave had a WR playing tonight and a WR with a sportspick at that.  McNair was knocked out yesterday on the first play of the second quarter, so his tremendous output of 0.2 points wasn't really helpful.

Still, looking at Nick's point total (unless he has someone playing tonight), I should still be in first, just not undefeated anymore.  So I can still be a prick for another week ;D

Sweet.  A win against the Purple Cobras this week and my matchup with said Canuckleheads could be a battle for first place!
