interesting seeing kirilenko goign so early?!?! HE will be a big time player but with the new divisions and matchups picking him over SHAQ???

Shaq wasn't even one of the players I was contemplating taking here and I think it's because of the scoring system we are using. Though, I am a rookie when it comes to fantasy basketball, so it remains to be seen if my judgement is off on this one.

Yeah Shaq's a 2nd rounder according to Yahoo's rankings, ranked 12th.

the scoring awards for every category, with shaq on the eastern confernece he will definitively score 22+ and keep his 12+ rebounds per game, dont forget with smaller centers he will keep his blocks per game, all stats are comparable to KG except for the assists where KG AVG 5 comparable to some pg

PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, FG%, FT%, and 3's are all scored equally; and Shaq only is good in 4 of those 8 categories.  Shaq's free throws, 3's, assists, and steals are way lower than Yahoo's top 10 ranked fantasy players, and his PPG will not be much higher.  There are at least 10 other players who are good at 5+ categories.  That's the reason for Shaq's 2nd round status.

So, is Jeff out posting bail for one of his future players, or what?

Dunno, would certainly fit well with his plan.  He may want his big thug first.

Agreed. While Shaq might be good in some of those categories, he will kill you in categories like FT% and in Steals. I opted for someone who is a more well rounded guy, who may come pretty close to Shaqs Pts, Rebounds and Blks, but will kill him in the FT% and steal category.

Oh no, I disagree.  Just as JediMac would.  Shaq works really hard on free throws, honest. :P
