I bet the LAPD had something to do with it.

RIP, sci-fi, horror icon Richard Lynch:

http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=737825

Will always remember him fondly from "Sword and the Sorcerer" and the epic "Gun on Ice Planet Zero" episode of Battlestar Galactica.

Best part of the above obituary is the last line:

"Lynch had said he suffered scarring in 1967 after he set himself on fire while under the influence of LSD."

Dude, that's hardcore.
A character’s face is melted by fantastical energy

Andy Griffith dies at 86

Makes me sad.   I grew up watching the re-runs of the Andy Griffith show on television.  It was (and still is) one of our families favorite shows.

To be honest, I thought he died 3 or 4 years ago.  Whoops.

I think that was Don Knotts that died 3 or 4 years ago.

This news makes me think about a HOward Stern interview that he did with Ron Howard...  Ron Howard was shockingly open, and Stern of course diverted the conversation to sex at a point and asked about a rumor he'd heard about Don Knotts being quite the skin hound...

Ron Howard acknowledged it, and that Knotts had different women often, but that he wasn't ever exposed to what went on though now he's sure it was going on quite often.  He said Andy would personally take him off the set when things were "getting rowdy" and they'd go hang out and tour other studios and stuff.

He was, I guess, quite cautious with Ron Howard's growing up in the spotlight, and wanted to make sure he had as normal a childhood as he could, and that he was taken care of and not exposed to too much.

Good guy.
